Sorry but its not gonna happen. Cville is good don't get me wrong but they don't have enough "good kids".
Not next year. They just don't have enough.

wow, anyone who thinks st x won't get at least top two, (probably champs), or that centerville will beat them doesn't know anything about high school swimming.
St. X is too prestigious and is too consistent no to get top two. They have an unreal lineup every year. Next year will be no different

Thank God X has its prestige. They would probably suck without it. Everyone knows that prestige wins championships. Thats why a school from North Carolina wins the NCCA b ball tournament every year. Thats why the Yankees win the World Series every year. Thats why the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup every year. Not training. Not skill. But flat out prestige. Every one else is too nice to ruin their perfect record.
Idiot, prestige does not say anything about how fast a team will swim.

okay then what other adjectives do you have to describe their 30 state titles and 10+ national champoins?
seriously kid way to point out the flaw in the post. it still stands that X has the most successful swim and diving team in the state of ohio. they have a solid lineup for next year and i guarantee they'll beat centerville and most likely every other team in ohio, just like nearly every other year

You still are not basing your opinion on any fact besides the team's success in the past. No one ever challenged X as the best overall program. Furthemore, I agree that X will beat CVille next year. But your reasoning is bluddy rubbish. Seriously, toddler, you think X will be better than CVille next year because they have won 30 state titles in the friggin' past. I don't know where you got 10+ national titles. I always thought it was 3 but I don't profess absolute knowledge.
I appreciate that you acknowledged your post's flaw, but you still did nothing to correct it in your next one. When you have something besides X's prestige to justify your point, get back to me. For now, your argument is about as effective as a baboon's blog.

I, for one, will be surprised if X is not in the mix for the championship next year. They return top swimmers in the 200, 500, Breast & IM. They're the deepest team in Ohio and will have relays that are top 5, if not better. And I do think history means something. In the last 40 years X has won the title 30 times and, if memory serves me right, they were second 9 out of the 10 years they didn't win. And by the way, I believe Jim Brower has only finished first or second in his years as head coach. That's pretty impressive... and worthy of consideration when projecting next year's finish.

Centerville's Ty Perkins finished 3rd in the Y Nationals 500 with a time of 4:28.15. That's an impressive time. As a side note, it appears that Perkins may have only rested and not fully taper for the state meet. 4:34.11 at state as opposed to 4:28.15. This suggests that his training emphasis may be more on the Y season and its championship meet over the high school season and its championship meet. While there is nothing wrong with that, it may also explain the difficulties that Centerville swimmers seem to experience in their state meet tapers...if they focus more on the club meets and season than the high school meets and season. Just a thought.

St. Xavier's Alex Miller finished with a time of 4:27.68 in the 500 at Y Nationals, compared to a 4:31.60 at State, it's only a 4 second drop compared to Perkins' 6 second drop...but it's still a decent drop. I wouldn't be too quick to assume Centerville doesn't completely taper for State based on one swimmer's performance.

There is more than one swimmer who did alot better at meets after state than state itself from centerville.
Perkins- 4:34 to 4:28 ? 500free
Schieman- 50. to 49 100 fly
Gammell- 53.9 to 53.0 100back
Litvinov- 59.9 to 57.6 ? 100 breast
