Big surprise, Mason came in first.
Oh, and Moeller came in first, also. Tie for first place.
Biedenharn beat Vigar in both the 200 and 500.
Sanders won the 50, Supronas won the 100 free.
No really big time surprises.

I'd say Alex Miller's 1:42 in the 200 free is a big swim, going a best time untapered at Sectionals is a good sign for him going into these next two weeks.

I was surprised by that time, but the bodysuit explains some of it.

Who wears body suit or even any kind of fast suit to a sectional meet when you know you are going to make it back. its just not necessary for him or other fast people. Doesnt make sense to me.

yea.. Moeller better wake up.. yet, they still can't compete with depth. Mason had all 4 score in the majority of the events. And Moeller possibly had 1-3 in other events. At Districts and State, the gaps in Moeller's line up won't show up as much.
Also, Loveland's DQ in the 200 free relay?? What are you thinking? On Swimmeet.com's Fantasy heat sheet, they were ranked 6th. Ouch....

he was testing it out, still he beat all the flyer but schuttingers best time,
with NO taper...
also split a 22.6 on the medley, and cvilles medley went a 1:39.1 with a 22.7 from the free

I figured it was a new suit or something. Did he wear it for all events or just the 100 fly?

Could that be a typo or should Chris Ash be worrying about his record?

I'm really surprised at how the 100 Breastroke panned out for the SW District. I had expected something like:
1) Lipari (St. X)
2) Albers (Moeller)
3) Schieman (Centerville)
4) Schwartz (St. X)
5) Litvinov (Centerville)
But we ended up with:
1) Schwartz
2) Albers
3) Schieman
4) Kimutis (who?)
5) Lipari
Should make for an interesting district meet.

Kimutis went a 1:00 at the GCL meet so he's legit. And I think you meant Lipari to be in the 5th spot, not Schwartz again.
I'd expect Districts results to go like this:
1. Albers
2. Lipari
3. Schwartz
4. Schieman
5. Litinov
6. Kimutis
...with all probably breaking the 1:00.00 barrier.

kimutis had a good gcl, but he was also the only kid last year for x who failed to qualify from sectionals to make the district meet. i would prefer not to call him legit until he can consistently show good performances at big meets. gcl and sectionals are swam at keating, with a lot less pressure than districts. 100 at gcl, 101.2 at sectional. should he follow with another consistent performance at district, then i would say he was legit. i dont know many other breastrokers, but him at 6 is a bit of a stretch. of all of x's breastrokers, he is still the #4 guy. i would go with baumgartner over him.

You can hold the fact that he didnt make it to districts against him. That happened last year and people tend to be faster a year later, so saying he isnt legit because of what happened last year isnt fair to what he has accomplished this year.
I am interested in what Baumgartner can go as well, and i think he will be a litttle bit better than Kimutus at districts.

I know that it seems that Fairfield won't make all three but in each events who is seeded behind them that will pass them up? This is assuming that they will have a solid district taper and do not choke.

I think the hundred breast will be one of the races to watch because who knows what the kids will end up going. Lapari has been going 59s all year so i would expect a break out swim with him maybe a 57 or so. Albers will probably come on strong with a 56 or 57. I think Schwartz will finish with a 58 or so. but remember they wont be tappered for districts so expect faster swims out of them at state.

I don't know if you can expect those kind of drops at the beginning of their taper. I bet all eight in the top heat are tapering for state. It should be a close race from lanes 1-8, but I don't think you will see three guys under 58.
50 free should be great, with five guys already posting sub-22 times this year.
200 free is a free-for-all. Again, with the top-8 tapering for state, it comes down to who gets an early effect from their taper. How many can get below 1:42? But there could be twelve guys around 1:43 or better.
All the relays will be fun to watch. The top-4 should all be close at the finish. But it's more important to qualify to state than to take any risks. So hopefully, eveyone concentrates on safe starts. Nobody wants to see a DQ'd relay.

Well then to go from failing to qualify to Districts to being the 4th seed one year later is pretty impressive, even though they split DI and DII this year (he's 5th overall with the two divisions combined). Just the improvement from last year to this year makes him look quite impressive, and the fact that he was within .3 seconds apart between his GCL and Sectional swims looks pretty consistent. Also the location works to his advantage as Miami is a faster pool than Keating.
I certainly am not saying other swimmers won't beat him, but he himself has proven to be a competitor and the other swimmers are going to need to step up to bump him out of the top 8.

just saying....what?
They don't give points for seed times, but if they did this would be the total points for relay entries
104 Moeller
102 StX
100 Centerville
76 Mason
70 Fairfield
68 Oak Hills
64 Milford
58 Sycamore
In three days, we can count the actual points. Good luck everyone...and NO DQ'S!!!

Wow I didn't see that, they could come close to that record if they weren't tapered at all or wearing fast suits in that swim.
I also see UA went a 3:09 in the 400 Free relay, not too bad at all for sectionals.

Also Eric Huffman's 20.31 is very impressive and 44.62 in the 100 free.
