Just wanted to wish your midddle school wrestlers good luck in the upcoming season. I think we see you guys at Springfield in a tri match with Coventry. By the way, where are your home matches held, Shrop, Springhill, Central....just want to make sure I show up at the right place. Also, who do you guys have at 92 pounds this year?

I'm not sure about our 170 pounder. I do know that we have really good light weights.

let me know how that went if you could i'd like to keep up on them as the season goes on and by the way Norton has some good wrestlers above 120lbs... your boy should be wrestling a kid with a ton of experiance

Norton last night came out on top of both Springfield and Southeast you were not kidding Norton had a lot of good wrestlers. Springfield has a lot of kids under 120. I would say total about 7 pins for Springfield. As for the heavyweights A kid named Todd had 2 pins. I think they only won 4 matches total in the heavy weight division. They just lacked some experience but there was some close match's and they do look promising for the future. As for Chris's first wrestling experience the second match he lost on points to a Norton kid. The first match was against Southeast, he pinned the kid in 20secs. Again the lightweights we had more kids than Southeast and Norton. We have some very good lightweight wrestlers.

Hey Kev, how's Zack doing this year? I really miss watching him wrestle. If you're free on Thursday the 22nd Field is wrestling Springfield and Coventry at Springfield at 4:00. We have a couple kids hurt right now, but we're still undefeated. Jimmy's is like 17-4 and undefeated in the league. Rusty is like 18-3 with 9 straight pins. Sorry if I'm bragging, just a proud dad.

were all doing good here.. good to here the boys are taking care of buisness.. you think your missing seeing him wrestle i'm bored as heck but i cant push him more than i do already, he needed a break and so did our family. i just wish he would of choose not to play baseball this year instead? we have been lifting and getting ready for him to start at Lake on jan. 20th i have spoke with some coaches out there and they seem really cool and are making him feel welcome.. there is a Lake youth coach we have meet in the gym and he just took a liking to zach and introduces him to kids all the time in there its pretty cool he is ready to go there now but still talks about Springfield allot but thats all he knows right now he will adjust and do fine at Lake, maybe by the time he is in HS Lake can play Springfield again in football talk about motivation for a game....and like you Buck29 which side do i sit on???

nice to see the MS team going again... they are young but have a brite future if all the kids stick with it and gain experiance. looked like they had only one or two open weight classes thats nice to see.
Field is strong, sending quality wrestlers out at just about every weight.
The duals last night were great. good to see a gym full of wrestlers and wrestling fans at Springfield again good job to KV for picking the right guy to head the HS program and to the rest of the coaches from the youth up for reviving the wrestling program which in the past has produced 5 different state champs and one being a 2x state champ and national champ in the last 20 years thats pretty good for a school of Springfields size and we should be proud of that. the numbers at youth are up we have a MS squad again and the HS team is growing in numbers and will continue to grow under this program. i must say they do need to have more home matches to expose the people in the comunity to the sport of wrestling. a couple matches held during school would be recommended to help with drawing kids into wrestling. i know when i got out of class to go watch the the wrestlers in HS a couple times it made me want to. just a suggestion for next season.

Middle school had a decent outing at Revere tourney. They placed 4th out of 8 schools, could of placed 3rd but lost a couple kids and a few weight classes were empty for us. Last week at the Woodridge tourney they placed 3rd out of 5 schools. I would say the best team we faced so far would be Kent

when you say lost kids does this mean they quit?? when i saw them they only had 2 or 3 open weight classes against field and coventry... i doubt Kents MS could beat Fields MS squad just and opionion but they have beat up on some good MS squads from some of the results i have seen and from what i have heard from guys around that are in the know when it comes to wrestling..
hey buck29 have you guys wrestled Kent yet?? i saw the lake perry match last week and Perry destroyed Lake but after all Perry is one of the gold standard wrestling programs even in parochial school eyes...
SSpartan, if your boy stays in the sport you have some exciting times ahead of you... he is so strong... could make some noise at the state level as he learns more and J.C. is the man to help get him there..

Hey Kev, yes, we wrestled Kent our very first dual of the season. We hammered them. I think the score was something like 74-18. We just won the PTC tourny as well. Field MS ended up 20-0, winning the Chippawa tourny, the Tuslaw tourny, the Lake invitational, and the Kenmore tourny. Jimmy took 2nd at PTC's today. He pinned everyone until he got to DeGraff. That kid's a hammer! Springfield had some kids do very well. Brodie took first at 122lbs. I think. Peyton got kind of screwed in two seperate matches. He took 4th, but probably should have taken 2nd. Triston Briggs also placed 5th I believe. Can't wait to see Zach back on the matts. He would look better in red and black than blue though.:)
