spartan fans whats your thoughts on play calling

I didn't even have to talk to you and I know what you were thinking. KV has to step up and reconsider his offensive coordinator. They have lost 3 or 4 starters already this season and still play very good on defense. I don't think we would even bring up the freshman if play calling wasn't a issue. I told Talbert dont gain anymore yards and he will get the ball more..:rolleyes: I am not the greatest on football knowledge, but when you have band members screaming run the ball then somethings wrong with your o coordinator. Red zone 13 O coordinator priceless.

the freshman is not the issue, but when you have a starting tailback hurting and the freshman is sitting there in the wing waiting (by the way who is not that much smaller than #4 from field) at this point in the season when your 0-6 its time to get him involved alittle more the offence could use his change of speed to open the running game up for the big fullback who has been getting better with every touch. use #27 he's a proven runner a hard nosed kid who isnt affraid of contact. we got the weapons o cordinator needs to start using these boys to help our qb stay healthy...

i by no means want to bash any coaches... we have enough of those people already on here but i will give my opinion.... 1st- move 25 to reciever more often he is more dangerous when given the ball off the edge and has shown good ability to catch the ball better than anyone else... 2nd- all rb's need to go north and south more quit trying to stretch every thing out to the sideline we dont have that type of speed cut it up and take what you can get.. 3rd- have the qb run more often on the boots early i think this would soften up the coverage later in the game and the big pass plays would be there when we need them plus he is probably the most skilled runner they have.. 4th- wr/te's need to catch the ball and thats pretty self explainitory... 5th- o-coordinator seems to want to call the opposite play as what would be expected or should i say needed for certain downs and distance's i wonder if he is out smarting himself and trying to much to trick defenses with weird decisions... either way they players need to execute better to be successful... they are so close to winning they just need to start and finish a game without major mistakes or penalties...

Oh then leave the bashing to me. I am not scared to voice what should be done but your input 71 always makes me rethink of what comes out of my fingertips. Bottom line the kids are playing catch up from the O coordinators calls. Its plain to see north and south gets the team yardage. Me personally we should have won 3 games so far. And one was a iffy due to the dropped passes and penalties. Who am I to judge as long as Mr Roboto gets a few touches.

i must say i like the offensive sets and plays very complex and decieving and they seem to get some match ups that they could take advantage of at times and they do try but the execution when they get those match ups is just not there.. play calling has been questionable but i really believe it comes down to execution with this team if your team struggles to execute offensively then every game will be a slow painful death for your defense.. defensively they do well most of the game but seem to be getting beat up front allot and cant seem to handle a good or even average offensive line. this year they may get a win still but next year i think they will begin to lite it up allot more offensively and the wins will follow there is allot of talent coming back to the team and the freshman class has some real nice kids coming up not a ton of kids but some real quality talent that will help.. i must say i would like to see the freshman 33 start to get more time to prepare him for the speed of varsity play that he will surely get next season but not at the cost of the senior backs who stuck it out over the last 2 nightmare season.. with all that being said when the freshman this year are senior and the 7th grade team who is competitive with every team they play and very big gets to 10th grade to me that will be the season they could compete for a league championship but i hope it happens sooner... i dont want us to turn into the fan base that green has that constantly rips players after every loss we dont need that and really niether do they...

This guy knows more about football than anyone on here. When he was at Green we had the most potent offense and made the playoffs. He quit when McVicker became senile. You are lucky to have him but in typical Springfield fashion you will run a good coach out. We could use him back at Green soon.

I cant even think about bashing one player on that team. For what KV has to work with they are doing a great job. I cant be convinced otherwise that play calling in many instances have sealed the Spartans fate. I know that as good of a coach KV is he cant be liking what he has gotten from his O coordinator. Maybe there is some kind of blackmailing going on here:rolleyes:

You have issues when people question you and Morans coaching skills but you are doing this to a coach with much more knowledge and experience than any coach in Springfield including your head coach. i do know that everyone who i have talked with on the staff loves the o-coordinator and speaks highly of his knowledge they all believe in him, and as i have said with more weapons next year his schemes will be hard to defend..:)

you hit the nail on the head with your post and i'm not complaining just giving an opinion that i would give to vaughn if he really cared to ask but i'm happy with the coaching on this team they have done well with what they have and will be better next season.. no need to get sensitive with us just die hard fans trying to have a discussion here.... and i like how you took a jab at the youth as well... i'm not even going to go there with you it would be fruitless and counterprodutive... frustration breeds hatred and we are all frustrated here in Springfield no need to attack each other.

The only reason you are even competitive is you have 3 Green products on your coaching staff this is the only smart move your head coach has made.

Both Leagues have moved on their merry way. Springfield BYF is enjoying a successful season in the new League and are extremely happy they made the move. Seems things have slowly dissapated and hopefully will not re-surface. Unfortunately, the events that transpired cost the Springfield BYF League close to $6,000.00 that could have been spent on better things.
