Thurs OCT 2. At Summit at 5. Biggest game of the season for these 2 with the MVC title on the line. Meininger could be suspened for this game bc of the red against mariemont. THoughts on the game? Can Seven Hills upset Summit?

HUGE GAME. Bigger than the Marimont-Summit game because the MVC league title is at stake. It should be great...

Does the winner of this game win the MVC?

What are the rest of the standings in the league?

Would imagine:
CHCA
CCD
St. Bernard
NCH

Does Dayton Christian count in league standings?
What about Cincinnati Christian?

do you guys think these two teams would be able to compete with average division 1 teams or blowout?

ask princeton, who barely beat seven hills 2-1

imo the best d3 teams can always compete (not necessarily tie or win) with teams ranked 7 and below in d1. after that it gets very tough, sometimes impossible

my prediction
2-2 tie

I wonder what the city rankings will look like now, especially with these scores:
Seven Hills 1, Summit 0
Summit 2, Mariemont 1
Mariemont 2, Seven Hills 1

Whatever, SEVEN HILLS IS MVC CHAMPS

it really sucks for such an amazing and dedicated player to have an own goal on senior night. Summit honestly was just unfortunate. In my opinion they had more quality opportunities and dominated most of the play but.....things happen.

Congratulations SHS!

Coach has always done a great job with this program.

He does it the right way and deserves credit for being successfull year after year.

I think that credit should also be given to Coach Bernard Baker for the tremendous job his has done this season.

It should be known that Coach Nichol discovered and mentored Coach Baker. The Summit coach has always praised the Seven Hills coach for this.

This rivalry will only get better.

Simply put the MVC is fully of high caliber coaches that are quality people as well. Greg Hirschauer - CCD and Sam Dillard - Cincinnati Christian have been coaching their respective schools for over 15 years. That is quite a commitment to our kids.

Barnard Baker & Terry Nichols also represent the best in my profession and are a great example of mentor / student. We also shouldn't forget the foundation at Summit that was created by Charlie Cooke and carried on by Scott Cagle also great coaches.

Terry to me is one of the best coaches we have in the city as a tactician and builder of young men. My first experience with Terry and why I became a huge fan of his began at a game against CHCA. It had a profound effect on me and my coaching style. One of his players got beat repeatedly by a CHCA player and finally the SH player took him out with a slide tackle to the back of the ankles & achilles. The ref didn't card the player and Terry was so insensed at his player realizing the poor sportsmanship and lack of involvement by the ref - it should have been a red card. He pulled that player off the field, sent him home and continued the game a man down. He got skewered by his parents but he told them that is not the way his team is going to play.

I am quite proud of my association with these gentlemen and my league.

I also am very proud to be associated with the outstanding coaches we have in the MVC and in Cincinnati Division III. I am always humbled when listening to such brilliant soccer minds talk about the game and their players. Coaches like Jon Unger, Scott Cagle, George Stinson, Greg Hirschauer, Terry Nicholl, Sam Dillard, Joe Mehl, etc. make me want to be a better teacher and mentor. To be high school coach takes a great deal of sacrifice for very little monetary reward. But the reward is so great, in my opinion, that you couldn't put a $$ amount on it.

I have worked very hard to try to bring myself equal to the above-mentioned coaches, and will continue to do so. Boys soccer players in Cincinnati are very fotunate to have these guys coaching them.

what player scored the own goal?

Meninger, it just bounced off his foot the wrong way, very unlucky.
