#16, John Buscher, junior center defender for Carroll looks real good this year, and has started since his freshman year.

...agreed, plus he can score when the team needs it. John a\has all the tools....size, plays with his head up and can lace the ball.

Best defenders from the area are Peter Michelson, Andy George, #5 center back/stopper from princeton..fast but not skilled, but still good.

Thats funny, because I remember seeing Rakoczy marking Fink 90% of the game. And the 10% where he did play up top, he had no problem getting by his man, creating numerous chances. Good try.

Definately Zach Nacev for Seven Hills. Great defensive player that can be apart of the offense as well.

Others might include:

David Carter (Wyoming)
Kevin Siegle (Finneytown)
Nate Bryson (Finneytown)
Zach Moss (Fairfield) --also an attacking minded defender

true but when rackozy was up top he was forced to the outside every time and not allowed to create as he was when he was picking up the ball deeper in the midfield and dribbling through midfielders and defenders. This may not be a good example because of where he was playing in the finneytown game.

btw, don't subordinate my opinions just because you don't agree! It is obvious that we did not see eye to eye on the game.

I agree with the others you have selected though, Im guessing you are a chl person????

Acouple players I think are being overlooked and thats Sam Schulte...not sure if he's healthy but he was an all city defender last year...Also Andy Cook from Mason...these 2 are prolly two of the best sweepers in the city...and they also play on the same club team

Double on Sam Schulte of st. x-last I talked to mom-he is on the mend and playing ! Also-team may not be strong- but Harrison's Logan Meinzer- currently out on the injury list-another great sweeper!

Gotta give Andy Cook from Mason and the Dude from Milford with the toss . He controls the mid-fiield and hurt us in the box .. tough combo to beat
Moss get it done.

Nick B from Lasalle is one of the best in the city. He would eat A George's lunch everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Does LeSalle play 11 v 11 or they still in candy league at 8 v 8 ?

I nominate the entire Finneytown defense: Kevin Siegel, Sam Rakoczy, Nate Bryson, and Abie Korman (injured, but I've seen him play enough to put him in this group). Ben Steineker (GK) has credit for five shutouts so far and even though he's a very good keeper, he didn't get them alone.

A team that chooses to mark a man thru out the game shows more for the
offensive player than the defender. But note that if the team knows the other
teams best player and lets him beat you without trying to stop him.WELL?

I am pretty sure that the starting Finneytown defense consists of Nate Bond (Fr), along with Kevin Siegle (Jr), Nate Bryson (Jr), & Abie Korman (Sr). I think Sam Rakoczy (Soph) has been filling in for Korman hasn't he? They have a couple other Sophomores that are contributing too. The defense is very strong. If it wasn't for a fluke goal @ Oak Hills they would be sitting on 6 shutouts in 8 games and possibly 7 shutouts if it weren't for the goal they conceded against Bacon too.
