I'm not a pollster so I can't speak to the protocol but this might be the year three Cincinnati teams should be in the top ten. Seven Hills should be in place of Springfield Catholic Central or somewhere in the top ten. Seven Hills beat SCC 3 - 0 in a very convincing victory.

Again, I don't know if protocol allows no Dayton team to get into the top ten but clearly there are three teams in Cincinnati better than the best team in Dayton. No disrespect to Dayton, I would expect the same thing when DC, SCC and Yellow Springs are better than the top Cincinnati teams. Every city, league has down years and this year happens to be Dayton.

Agree with the above. Regarding DII it is interesting to see a McNick team in there even with a couple decent early results after getting hammered 8-0 by Carroll last Tuesday.

I am not sure why the 3rd team from Cincy didn't get enough points, but I agree with you, Dayton is down this year. I can tell you that I am a pollster and voted for them (the 3rd Cincy Team).

Gview, I'm sure there is a hesitancy from other pollsters around the state to shut out any city. It is usually the pollsters within the city that try to maintain the integrity of the system by not voting for their teams. I can understand, no one wants the backlash that might occur if a city isn't represented. I will say that last year the poll was dead on and almost got the DIII state final four completely correct.

Not an easy job, thanks for your participation.

Actually I think if you look over the years, that two teams playing at Crew Stadium are generally in the Top Ten. One exception might be CHCA in 2004.

And BTW, according to new MVSSCA Poll SCC is not the best team in Dayton, that would go to Bethel.

I figured that had to change, is Bethel that good? I looked at their schedule and the only win of significance was over Dayton Christian. And DC now looks like a pretender instead of contender. I know I shouldn't talk with my team playing the way they are right now getting hammered by Seven Hills.

All those that whine about my complaints can start whining now before they even read my post, because you know what it is going to say based on my sn.

SCC AGAIN does not deserve to be in the top 10. Make a misstake once, learn from it. Make a mistaek twice, shame on you

Bethel lost 3-2 to DC.

i agree with the placement of the cincy teams. i think SH should be in place of SCC but, I am bias. I can't wait for the mariemont summit matchup, it will be interesting to see how the defenses copes with extremely good forwards going both ways. I also want to see how Herkamp tries to handle Dwyer.

Didn't McNick lose 8-0 to Carroll, and tie Turpin? DII must be weaker than I thought this year.

Yes, McNick lost 8-0 to Carroll a week ago. They have also tied Turpin, and defeated Anderson 4-0, so they had some other good results. However, any team that loses 8-0 to another top 10 team should not be ranked in the state. Indian Hill only lost 3-0 to Carroll earlier in the season and you wouldn't see Finneytown getting beat 8-0 by Carroll. So DII is down top to bottom but the same contenders are going to battle for districts in my opinion.

I think you need help. I wasn't debating the validity of the poll at all. I thought it was an interesting piece of information to see that two teams in the poll had played each other.

I'm not sure how often that happens during the regular season each year, especially outside a team's own area.

Like I said, too much coffee yesterday morning. Teams traveling outside their district to play each other is happening more and more each season. The better teams are trying to challenge their program with tougher games. The top DIII teams from Cinti and Dayton are playing each other. For the past couple of years we have seen a team like Springfield Catholic, Dayton Christian and Yellow Springs play several Cincinnati teams and vice versa with Summit, CHCA & Seven Hills. I think it is great and should continue. Maybe we should create a "Champions League" for high school but I guess that is the State Tournament.

^^^ I actually love the fact that they're doing this. What would be difficult but potentially possible would be to have the top say 3-4 teams year in and year out from each city play in something like that at the start of the year, where you play teams from within your city during the week and teams from outside your city on weekends. The fact that its at the start of the year helps the top teams to sharpen their games for league play and also doesn't force them to show too much to their potential regional (or now even district final) opponents. And I always loved beating a team like SCC because of how great the games were.
