Huge game this weekend as two early powers collide. It seems like both offenses are rolling. Any thoughts?

I'll take the Aviators plus 2. Milford was lucky to get past Princeton last night. The way I heard it Milford had plenty of opportunities in the first half but couldn't finish. In the second half the LOUD & OBNOXIOUS Princeton coach put in the better of the teams two goalies. Milfords night was ended until Princeton put in an own goal with about 4 minutes left. The Princeton coach seemed to have lost the game himself by not playing his more experenced players. I guess coaches need experence too. I'll take Sycamore tommorow and on the 9th against Princeton.

The Aviators will take this one by 2 ...Should be a well matched game, but in the end the Aviators will get past the Milford defense.

Are you serious? How do you have any idea who the better goalie is. Both are good, but just because one is a senior doesn't make him automatically better and more experienced than a very good junior (they split halfs last year).
Milford scored against us in the first 5 and last 5. It is very true they had the vast majority of possession and bulk of chances-- but we had a tying header cleared off the line by Andy George's jumping clearance. At the same time, Milford were clearly frustrated by the most physical GMC defense of Rayshood Herron and Matt Direnzi. It is only for this and a compact midfield that Milford were held for so long. Sycamore has a solid d, but unless they've improved from last year with the same players I highly doubt they will hold them to 2 or less goals.
Defensively, the only real way to exploit a Milford weakness is against the left back (no name) captain. With Lavigne and Listo attacking him they'll get serious chances. Final Score: 3-1 Milford
Princeton1 You must have drank the cool aid .... only an idiot would not play a senior over a Junior unless there is a clear and obvioius difference in skills. Programs are built to maintain classes so varsity teams are loaded wither upper class athlets ..... maybe your goal is to get as many starting freshmen and sophmores as possible .......... good luck with your strategy we'll see how you do when you play your GMC schedule.

Why wouldn't the best player play? Or would we rather not prepare seniors for real life?

2GD4U, what is your point? Exactly you have none. Did you seriously try posting that in response to my analysis of the game. You go to Milford and obviously are biased in the fact you probably know/play/are friends with our senior backup gk. Have you been at every Princeton scrimmage and practice-- the basis for the starting gk decision? No, exactly. And then you mention picking freshmen and sophomores over seniors? Where did you get that from and how does it have anything to do with a junior being picked over a senior at one position? Especially when the junior has been determined better and has played well all 3 games. So please just don't try coming back with a better post because anyone who reads it knows how dumb of a post that really was. And yeah, we'll do fine in the GMC-- what bitter you dropped out because you're only good sport right now is soccer?
Princeton1 What sort of a rambling response was that .... and your position is so weak you need to draw on princetons other sports to support your team ? If the best players are on the field then you will have great season or maybe you will continue to lose .... but you can always go to basketball and then you will fell better about yourself

I understand from a Sycamore fan that Milford has only been healthy 75-80% this year and will be at 100% for their next game. At 3-0-1 and tying a very good Sycamore team with key players missing not a bad way to start the season. The next 2 weeks will get interesting.

I attended this game on Saturday and for all of those who did not, Sycamore was in control of this one nearly the entire game. If not for a debatable bicycle save by Milford and a spectacular save late in the second half, Sycamore walks away from this one two nil.

i don't think that sycamore was in control of the game at all. it was pretty much even i would say basically the entire game. Milford had chances and so did sycamore. and the bicycle off the line was at least a foot away from the line, i would know i'm the one WHO SAVED IT. milford had a few chances as well but the problem is the offense getting in a rhythm and getting used to conditions. the field was so much more narrow than what milford has played on all season and that field takes away from milfords game so much (posession and slow movement up the field) we were not able to possess the ball at all on that field in those conditions, but i'm not taking away from sycamore's high pressure either. Anyways, i think that the game was definitely even, but Milford is still without Danny Haberer (varsity since a freshman, great player Ohio Elite U-18 DA) and Tyler Huerkamp (Ohio Elite U-16 DA last year and now on new Ohio Elite u-18 DA team, great player). so when they get both of those players back (next game vs oak hills) things will start going in the right direction for us. to go 3-0-1 without 2 major players is pretty good IMO

so what your saying is that you participated in the game instead of watching it from outside the lines? of course you would think this way then you didnt get to see the game as a whole.

if ... if ... if ... Oh well the score was 0-0. Maybe you'll get another chance later in the year. I wasn't there but with those players missing, I wouldn't be too impressed with Sycamore coming out with a tie.

As a Milford player, it was a very even match. Sycamore played well on their field which suited their style of play. We obviously aren't used to that narrow of a field but oh well that's part of the game; adjusting to conditions. Milford just didn't do so as well as we should have. Both teams had their chances to put the game away and both teams had their times of control of the game. No one can make comments like oooh if it weren't for that one save blah blah blah...you sound stupid. The score, 0 - 0, is an exact reflection of play of the game. period.

Of course coming from 2 milford players they are going to say the game was even game when in fact sycamore dominated the game. no question. how many times did forward garrett listo have a chance to put away milford. 2 or 3? and the ball that was supposidly saved was 3 feet across the line. not at one point did I feel milford looked dangerous but when huerkamp and haberer come back its a different ball game. sycamore should have won 2-0. no doubt

Gentlemen, gentlemen........as an innocent bystander in this who was in the middle of the game the whole time, I will say that this game was evenly matched. Both teams had their chances, but I will say that Sycamore had the more significant chances that they could not finish. In all honesty, Milford was very lucky to get away with a tie.
The ball that was cleared off the line in the later stages of the game was NOT on the line. The Sycamore players tried to argue that it was even caught on film/digital by a lady taking pictures, but that lady was near midfield and was nowhere near being conclusive.
All in all, it was a good game, but Sycamore definitely should have come out with the win due to some Milford defensive breakdowns.

this goes out to every single person, including cincysoccer2006, that continues to whine like a bunch of 9th grade bit**es sayin how sycamore should have came out with a 2-0 win...shut up. its almost funny how you go ahead and give sycamore those 2 goals that had potential to go in but DIDN'T yet don't take into account the times that we (milford) had to opportunities to potentially win it. Now, as a milford player, you don't hear me or anyone else sayin ohh we should've walked away 1-0 or 2-0 with a win blah blah blah. we understand and realize and know that it was a very even game with both teams having their chances to clinch the game. the out come is as stands 0-0. YOU get over YOURSELF and move on with your teams season.
