I looked at your schedule do you only have 6 games? Also talked to a few parents in the scrimmages and they only played 5-6 plays? Just asking questions.

It has already been addressed they are quitting because they said they were lied to. I looked at the schedule and you only have 6 total games. If the kids are not playing like you said they are and you have fewer games not seeing the upside. If all your 7th graders that were over the SYF limit would have played middle school we would have kept a middle school team. I truly am not trying to be a smart --- but facts are facts.Please answer in a rational manor. well pm those names so it can be addressed. and yes we have six home games.

I'm pretty sure most teams(excluding Flag) played 2 Scrimmages, and have 7 Regular season games, as well as a minimum of 1 Playoff game.

Question to you, without BYF, how many games would the 30 some odd kids who can not make the Suburban weight limits, been able to play? Just a question.

Again, don't have exact numbers, but my guess would be right around 22 some odd kids(could be more).
Also, you should't use rumors as part of your fight against us. Rumors are just what they are, rumors.
Move on Nick. Why the constant harping. OK, you don't like the League, we get it. I for one think its a great League thus far and look forward to our first real game Saturday. You should do the same.

but you don't see me on here spreading bad rumors or stories. Leave it be. If you're all about the kids, have the parents talk to their coaches and/or our Director, if in fact they are true. Simple as that.

ok nick this was a scrimmage format not the format to be played in the regular season if a kid only played 6 plays i would like to know who... the jv kids played two 10 play series on defense and two on offense last saturday.. i hope you understand this on saturdays they will have a whole game for themselves on the jv there were 3 frekkin teams at the scrimmage and for safety purposes we limited the scrimmage to 3 hours all the kids were whipped...but i guess you would not care about safety purposes...

Sorry for being reasonable and realistic.
Not sure who turned on me last year, and anyhow, this isn't about me. I appreciate your concerns though.
Oh and by the way, I'd say choosing BYF over Suburban was a pretty big stand.

I changed my mind, based on doing some research on the BYF League and really figuring out, what was right for our Township and its kids. Its that simple. Anybody that knows me, is well aware, that I make my own decisions, on matters at hand.

The only people who turned on Irish, are the intellectually challenged people who don't know a good coach from a hole in the ground. These same people have turned on and chased away other good Springfield Coaches.

If someones kid didnt play in a scrimmage, dont fret. when we had scrimmages in byf last yr. and the yr before, they wernt nessesarily V and JV scrimmages. it was combined.
come game time, all kids WILL get to play a lot ,wether it be Var or JV
I garrentee they will get to play way more than they would in the other league.
heck, we had to almost force some of the first yr. players to keep playing because they were either tired or were nervous.
as far as the lack of games i read about in an earlier post, as more teams join the league in the future (and they will) there will be more games.
I'm not with byf anymore [went on to Mid. school] but they might schedule two games with the same team or something. i'm not familiar with the buckeye youth leagues rules and such, last yr. the A team was with the n. canton league.
you probably arent counting the play- off games, which all teams play to see who moves on.

He didn't stay in a league, he started a "NEW" league!!!! He stole from the original organization to do it!!!!! Death threats?????? Vandalism?????? As far as his business goes, if people choose not to patronize a business because they don't like the owner's character, that's their right!!!!!

Okay, one more time for the "SLOW" learners: Springfield Youth Football is an organization that has been in Springfield for many, many years. Springfield Youth Football USE TO play in the Suburban Youth Football LEAGUE. Last year Springfield Youth Football's board unanimously voted to leave the Suburban Youth Football league and play in the Buckeye Youth Football league. Same organization-different league!!! A handfull of people decided to start a "NEW" youth football organization in Springfield and play in the Suburban Youth Football league. Why should the "NEW" organization take equipment that belongs to the "ORIGINAL" organization?
This guy has been in Springfield for what, four years now, and he's managed to cause this much trouble. Anyone who can't see this is blind, or simply have their own agenda, and are willing to cheat, lie, and steal to achieve it.
Shame on anyone that would steal from a non-profit organization for kids. You probably take money from the offering plate at church too.

You mean the brother that has two mothers? Why do we even talk about these guys. What they are doing does not have any impact on Springfield football what so ever. Half the kids dont live here and the other half are the coaches kids.

I remember about 7 years ago there was a kid on Ellet's A team that played tackle. He lost about 7 pounds to play. This kid was huge with no fat at all and strong as an ox. He would literally pancake someone every play. Kids in practice wanted no part of him. Of course going into his first JV season the following year he put on about 20 pounds, was a beast but could not play. He never played a down of football after that.

I don't know about the C, and A squads but the B-Team got beat in both games... forget the scores. And FYI the great new league went, well, GREAT!!!!!! We had 27ish 5th and 6th graders play at least 3 quarters or more. The field was beautiful, the sun was balzing away, and tons, and tons of football was played!!!!! WOHOOOOOOO

The BYF League for Springfield went well last weekend. Although Green beat all of our Teams, the kids still had fun and received a ton of playing time.
A Team recap- Green was well coached and very physical. Green took the lead with less than a minute remaining in the game. The lack of experience from Springfield players was evident, and as the season progresses, I see the team being very competitive.
Varsity-
Green 14 Springfield 6
It was very rewarding as a coach, being able to get all players plenty of playing time and not worry about parents being upset about it. This format will pay huge dividends for Springfield in the near future.

Green was the more experienced and talented team. We gave it our all, but came up just short. Not bad for a team with 6 kids on each side of tha ball, who have never played the sport before.

I believe your facts were wrong. We only went for it on 4th down, one time. The situation was 4th and less than a foot at our own 30 yard line. Coaches all agreed to go for it, because of lack of confidence in our Punting game. We didn't want to chance a bad snap and put Green inside our 15 yard line. Our Defense was playing well, and we saw something on their Defense that should have worked. Just so happens, Greens Defense made a great stop. This all happened early 3rd Quarter if I'm not mistaken. I have game film and would invite you to sit down and watch, to get your suggestions on what we could have done better.
There was no mention of switching QB's and RB's, not sure who told you that, and we never at any time, said we were gonna run, run, run. All lies again, to try and stir up trouble. We are however, going to be looking at the best senario for all of our Backs, which will put our Team in the best position to be competitive.
You did get one thing correct, we did run out of steam. I blame us Coaches for that. Maybe we haven't been pushing the kids hard enough. As coaches, we will evaluate what we can do better this week, come out and give it our best against Ellet.
Why don't you tell me your source, and I'd be glad to answer any questions he may have concerning our game decisions. Not sure where I have been trying to cover anything.

Please post the Link when its up. I don't really have a problem with that. I've got nothing to hide. I'm sure all the other "A" team Coaches would be appreciative of the free Film study.
We tried just about every play in our playbook, but could get nothing accomplished. Greens Defense was stiffling. We tried inside and we tried outside, but to no avail. To be leading that game going into the 4th quarter with only 1 first down was lucky. We had too many breakdwons Offensively, to be able to win the game. We are going back to fundamentals this week and hopefully the Team will come out ready. I'm proud of our Team and look for big things out of these kids soon.

we appreciate your support. As Head Coach, I will always take the blame for a loss, and always give credit for a win to the kids. I am in that position to make the best decisions for the team, and try put them in a position to win. You will not find me making excuses. I've excpted the fact, that going undefeated is very difficult. All that we can do as coaches, is learn from our mistakes and continue to teach these kids the game of football, and make it fun for them in the process. I've been doing this for some time now, and have also learned you can not make everyone happy. I will learn from my mistakes and forgive any ignorance out there, from disgruntled parents who take cheap shots at Youth Football Coaches.

it is what it is. since yappi has come about it is a place for people to smear coaches challenge communities and thier players and pretty much say things they don't have the nads to say to people in person...i'm sure that was not yappi's intentions and as long as everyone remains nameless on hear it will continue.... people who try and decieve others with trickery and lies need to look within themselves and ask why and what good becomes of my actions...not to sound like a holy roller but the bible speaks of lies and deciete being the traits of the devil dont let that be you.... people need to show some heart and compassion in life, if you dont like a call by the coach in a pee-wee game talk to him about it give them a chance to explain why, i think you would be more satisfied by that conversation than using a sporting forum to try and give people who are teaching your children how to play a sport a black-eye.. irish is one of the best coaches if not the best i have ever worked with to challenge his commitment to winning or his ability is assnine...
with that being said everyone has thier own way of dealing with things..some lash out at others and some just quit, personally i deal with a loss by going back to practice with my head held high and trying to let the kids know one loss does not make a season and we must work harder to achieve our goals as a team, and then lead them down that path. we had a great practice last night and it has rejuvinated my hope for this team to be a contender in this league. sorry to get so preachy but this kind of stuff pisses me off....:mad:

They could have played middle school. How many kids besides 7th graders are over 138? Also when the two teams that were rumored about leave BYF your 7th grade team will only have 5 teams left.
Not to stick my nose in, but our 6th grade B team has 15 kids that weigh over 120 pounds, and several over 150.
