View Full Version : Fairfield beats Finneytown
FF beat FT 3 - 1 on 2 goals by Ritz and 1 by Troutman. FF jumped out to an early 1 - 0 lead before FT equalized it at 1 - 1. The Indians then scored back to back goals to take a 3 - 1 halftime lead. FF dominated the second half but couldn't find the back of the net.
In addition to the goal scorers, Waters, Moss and Hansson played very well for the Indians who outshot FT 16 - 8.
Nice opening win by FF!

Jake driscol. And did you mean Fairfield dominated the first half? The second half was dominated by Finneytown. They had more quality shots than in the first half and a questionable no call in the box. Fairfields only chance came on a breakaway where the player kicked it right to the keeper.

it looked to me that Fairfield settled for it's 3 and Finneytown struggled to
complete quality passes to there forwards when they needed to.But over all
it was fairfield's game. Remmember it's early in the season.

Beg to differ, but FF had the ball in FT's end of the field for 75% of the second half. I was surprised how often FT played only one guy up top in the 2nd half. It looked like they were nursing a 1 goal lead. True, FT had a couple of dangerous chances off of counterattacks in the 2nd, but the Indians spent a lot of time in the FT box.
As for the officials, I thought they did a decent job and called the game well.
