I agree with the fairfield and Lakota west switch...i also think that loveland deserves a better ranking...there are some talented players on that team

Fairfield should be closer to the top and X is too high imo although they are still solid.
In the small school rankings i think the D2 schools were screwed....all top 5 are D3....looks a little shaddy to me!

I think the D1 preseason poll is a little off, with Fairfield as 6th when they are a top 3 team. Top 2 teams are spot on at least, for now anyway. Fairfield # 3, X maybe # 4 then Loveland, Sycamore, Elder, West? Moeller is getting no respect either with only 13 points and should be up there.
The DII-III poll is just ridiculous. Summit is good, no doubt. They return every starter. This poll though just shows how biased some people can be.

no acmilan, it shows how dumb the enquirer is. the coaches from each division (i am pretty sure) have decided to vote only for their division, so therefore if 7 people are voting from d3 and 4 from d2 then the poll will be skewed for d3. what you should do with that poll is split it into two, d2 and d3, and then determine merit:
1. Indian Hill(1)
2. Finneytown(3)
3. Wyoming
4. Badin
5. Batavia
6. Roger Bacon
7. Norwood
8. McNicholas
9. Little Miami
10. Ross
1. Summit(6)
2. Seven Hills
3. Mariemont
T4. CHCA
T4. Madeira
6. Reading(1)
7. CCD
8. Cincinnati Christian
9. Middletown Madison
10. Clark
Now debate. Here are my thoughts:
the reading coach has way too much confidence in his team as seen by his #1 vote
it looks like both divisoins have a large disparity between their top teams (in d2 its prob top 4 and in d3 its prob top 6) and the rest.
cincy2006 - What if Reading's coach isn't the one who gave them the #1 rank? Is it possible another coach gave them the #1 nod. Its possible, as he is a pretty humble guy by my coach's estimation in past conversations about there team. I agree with everything else you said, however, assuming is not always correct. They'll be good, but I don't know how good?

i just find it crazy that it would be anyone else but him as nobody else rated them that highly (as is obvious by their #6 rank). how many times do you see a team ranked 6th get any first place votes? i know it is an assumption, but
Fairfield in D1 is ranked 6th and got a first place vote. I see your point, just not sure that coach would do that.

So why is Monroe left out? Let me guess, no respect!!!
Because Monroe generally joins the Miami Valley Association.

I didnt think you were allowed to vote for your own team in regards to Readings coach giving themself such a high ranking.

I completely agree. How hard is it to split up Div II and III? It would make the polls much better. Coaches wouldn't have to vote on teams from other divisions, some of which they have never and probably will never see.

I find it humorous how much attention is paid to pre-season polls.
As of yesterday it's Showtime folks! Who's ready for some soccer?

I just wish they didn't lump the Div II and III together. I actually hate the preaseason polls also. Didn't vote in them this year, figured I would wait until I started seeing some games first so I was a little more qualified to vote.

Guess we all are surprised by Elder being in top ten on this list statewide. Not to take away from Elder but you have to include Milford, Centerville and probably Beavercreek ahead of them.
Guess ESPN just uses last year's playoff teams for starters like they do in pro football predictions. Either that or it shows the coaches have no clue, just like us.

What about CVCA??? They have won states two out of the past three years and they're not even mentioned???
