GAME 2 FINAL:

DETROIT 3
PITTSBURGH 0

Back to back shutouts by Osgood, Pitt got a little chippy in the end of game 2. Frustration must be really kicking in.....

Game 3 @ Pittsburgh where the PENS have won 16 straight.

Ozzie is playing out of his mind right now, I haven't seen anything from the Penguins that leads me to believe they'll come back and win this series.

That was a good game last night. I think the penguins are going to win the next game to tie the series at 2-2 and after that it could go either way. i wouldn't be surprised to see it go to game 7.

Game 4:

DETROIT 2
PITTSBURGH 1

Detroit leads series 3 games to 1 and will host game 5.

Pittsburgh had their chance to tie it with a 5-3 power play....big kill for the REDWINGS. Pittsburgh loses for the first time at home in the playoffs and snaps their 17 game home winning streak.

This thing is as good as over. Hats off to the Red Wings. They're the better, more experienced, more explosive team. Hopefully, the Penguins can build from this and use the experience to take the next step.

This series reminds me of the Stanley Cup final in the early '80s between Edmonton and the New York Islanders. The Isles completely outclassed a young, star-studded (Gretzky, Kurri, Messier, et al.) Oilers team en route to their fourth straight Cup.

But the next year, Edmonton came of age and destroyed an aging Islanders team in a romp. Perhaps the best is yet to come for the Pens.

It's obvious our backs are against the wall. Everybody, and that means YOU Geno, will need to play the game of their life starting tonight. Let's Go Pens!

3rd overtime.....here we go!!!!!!

I did not like any of the 3 penalties called so far in the overtimes......I hope this is not decided by a power play goal....

...but it is decided by a power play goal. Pittsburgh 4, Detroit 3 in three overtimes.

Petr Sykora scores the game winner for the Pens about 30 seconds into a four-minute power play. Jiri Hudler had been whistled off for high sticking. Evgeny Malkin got an assist on the game-winner. I believe that was his first point in the series.

Detroit got to within about 35 seconds of winning the Cup in regulation. Maxime Talbot's goal tied it for Pittsburgh after the Pens had pulled Fleury.

The Penguins closed the gap to three games to two after I had already conceded the Cup to the Wings. I may have to concede again before Game 6.

PITTSBURGH 4
DETROIT 3

3 Overtimes......

Detroit leads 3 games to 2. Game 6 is in Pittsburgh.

My fear came true with the power play goal in the third overtime. It had to be called unlike the three other penalties.....I knew then that Detroit could not stop Pittsburgh on a 4 minute power play....I was hoping for a penalty call against Pittsburgh to even it out a bit.....oh well......I wanted Detroit to win it at home but I will be a complete mess if this goes 7, So the REDWINGS will have to win it tomorrow night........

The last 3 games have been great......lets home we get atleast one more great game!!!!!!
