Plenty of food, drink and great time. Strenghtening the program at this young level will help bring better days for springfield football... AWSOME JOB!!!!!!!!

If you took it the wrong way, then I apologize. I'll go back and edit it.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Look whats up with tallmage, here we thought they had it all. Being humbled is the best cure for arrogance. We have a obligation to help our community out any way possible. I feel the pain first hand when my house went into foreclosure, and I was humbled once again to come out of it. I am not a perfect person and I made a few mistakes, but a few people believe in me and I feel like we can overcome these major obstacles. One thing I cant do is let my sons down. The easiest thing to do is head for greener pastures as you say but that proves how weak a person is. Dominick and Dillon will be SPARTANS, and never will look back and say I wish I could of went to a different school. My nephew Jerry stayed strong, maybe he didn't get the best coaching but was a Spartan for life. What can I say, I can go on yappizing all day long but gotta work.

But what you have to understand and believe, is that I am on your side. We both want whats best for our kids, as well as all the kids in Township. We need to continue to work together to give these kids an enjoyable experience. Hopefully we can all look to the future and help each other.
I don't think the people in Tallmadge are in major trouble yet, but if they're not careful, they could begin to experience some of the same hardships we have endured. Tallmadge is a smaller community with many newer Developements. I think they will figure it out a little sooner than our Town, and get their Schools back on track before its too late.

Just because i was a lifelong (almost) spartan does not mean my kids have to be or i am weak, me personally i will always be a spartan i love this township but i have made my choice and i wish all that live here the best.

I know your situation is hard. Kids get into fights everyday. The greener pasture comment was made by Irish and I repeated it. No way I would intend that at you guys. I think you guys can get thru it fine. You are under a different circumstance than the people I am referring to. We have lost over 100 kids due to open enrollment, I look at these greener so called pastures and don't see the great gain. Hang in there spartan71 it can only get better. Kids will fight 71, that's all it is, a fight.

We have lost over 100 kids due to open enrollment I screwed up, we have currently 200 plus kids at 5000.00 per child going to different schools from open enrollment. I don't know how many kids we have coming in from different schools though.

211 to be exact. We have not lost any athletes from the football aspect. A big change is coming people, but it will take everyone to make a difference.
Ellet, Green, and Springfield high school coaches have embraced the byf division programs with open arms.
I am calling out Mr. Ellis to be a leader and take the youth program to a level in which Springfield will compete @ the D2 level it holds. You have to be a pioneer, not a follower. We need to be competitive.
Work with the high school, show them you are your own man. A hand full of people are not as loud as a stadium filled. If you go the byf route, the support will be more than you can imagine.

You are being somewhat misleading your comments. Stacey supports both leagues equally, he has stated that and was at GYF sign-ups today. You can no longer use Green's HS coaches in your quest for a BYF league.

Of course Stacey supports both leagues. What normal level headed in his right mind h.s. coach would'nt support both. He has twice as many kids on the field playing football, learning fundamentals, hitting etc. He can mold them as he wishes starting in 9th grade.

Exactly. Some on here, as you can read, would have you believe that certain people support one league but not the other. they are just trying to spin things in an attempt to trick people in thinking that one league is supported and the other is not. He can mould them as he wishes in 9th grade as long as they are fundamentally sound. Being an Ellet guy, I'm sure that you have seen that with your own eyes at GYF.

Headhunter,
I'd be willing to bet, out of those 211 kids lost, at least one of them woulda or coulda been a contributor to the Football Team. Also, what you lose sight of, is the number of kids not yet at the High School who live in the Township, who will not be attending SHS. We've had a few already post on here, who have left for other Districts and I can tell you, there are numerous others who have already told me, they will not send their child to SHS unless they turn things around, Eduational wise and Athletic wise.
Suburban Youth Football in Springfield is also willing to work with the High School Coaches. We've done so in the past and will do so in the present and future, if they so desire.

Name one kid who would of made a impact on our team. Most of the talented players were not eligible because of grades. Changes are being made and the syf has forced there hand down on the will of the High School administration. I just don't understand the logic. I guess you and others just love to stay the course. You and a handful of people are holding up the advancement of progress to fit your own needs. I call it selfishness and you call it winning. My last post here, I will make a difference in the classroom and at the administration. Thanks for holding us back.

Headhunter,
there is a Player who is currently playing Football in Tallmadge, that actually used to start for Springfield his Sophmore year. I do not like to use names on here. If you want, I could PM you with his name. If the situation was better at SHS, he would still be playing here. There are others, trust me.
Also, you are not looking at the future. Please give some thought to what I said about the kids in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. I could give you a list of about 10 kids or more, some that already left and some that will not be attending SHS, unless the School system and its financial issues are resolved.
Nobody is doing anything in SSYF for their own needs. We are in it for the kids and make decisions on what we feel is in the best interest of the kids. As we stated before, we have spoken with the AD, and are working towards making Springfield Football better for everyone. Trying to fix something that isn't broken is not the answer. Getting involved and lending a supportive hand is a better resolution. Your anti-SSYF is doing nothing but hurting the Township. We will continue to work with the AD, and the future Head Coach, whomever that will be, in order to help the kids of the Township. Nobody, not me not you, knows what the future holds for SSYF, but I will tell you this, we will continue to work together to make Football a great learning experience and enjoyable for all involved. If the future for Springfield Football is BYF, so be it, but for the time being, we are here and are working hard to bring Springfield Football back to where it was in the 90's.
It sounds like you are teacher withing the District. Let me be the first to thank you for all you do. Teachers are a huge impact on our childrens futurea and I really appreciate all the hard work you do.

I'm not sure why people fighting for what they believe in is "holding anyone back". Whether you agree or disagree I think anyone, whether SSYF or BYF, who stands up for what they believe is right and is willing to give their time to try to help kids in the community should be commended. There are a lot of guys on both sides of the issue that are really good guys that I believe are in it for the right reasons. And, what's wrong with trying to teach the kids to be winners???? C & B-teams are one thing, but by the time the kids are 10 or 11 years old we need to quit wiping their noses and teach them to want to win!!!!! SYF or BYF-----I don't care, I just want to see any kid that wants to play, get to play. It seems like with all the people willing to help on both side, if they all worked TOGETHER this would be the place everyone would want to come and play. I also would like to say thanks to all the teachers that work so hard to help mold our kids. There are some great teachers in Springfield, and with a little help from the parents maybe some of those studs would be eligible.
