I was curios about finding out the top ten players for the up coming senior class in each of the three cities of Ohio South. Let's have some fun with it.
Dayton in no specific order;
Al Argyis
Brad Bourquin
Ben George
Tylor Pollock
Noah Zimmerman
Matt Bly
Taylor Herman
Phil Haggerty
Ryan Huber
Brad Bamberger

Christian Myton deffinately...kid is a monster

Christian Myton is one of the best target players I have seen in years along with Tylor Pollock. Mind you, I said target players, not forwards. They both can hold onto the ball very well which Division I programs have a hard time finding. As for Joe Day...I thought about him but doesn't belong in the top ten.

This is an interesting thread, as I am not as keen on the other two cities. Could you elaborate on the Dayton players by maybe saying where they go to school?

dont leave out players from mtsc... they have some very good talent
also, look for sam schulte (FOSC) to be dominant in the sweeper role at st x this year. he was first team all GCL and first team all district as a junior

If you guys are going to say that I'm missing some players, start naming some. I will agree with Sam Schulte. I have seen him play and he is a very talented center back. And name a better club team in the city then OE for the upcoming senior class. Of course most of the best players in the city will be on the best club team on the city. Start naming some players that you think are better than those listed. I'm interested to see who else is out there in your opinions.

very good list...dnt know who mitch white is? but i take your word for it. I'd also recomend u throw Zach Moss in that list as well as Ben Jones. Sean Teepen should be off that list though...he makes way to many mistakes as a GK and there are others that are better in my opinion

I may be biased, but I think that Alex Priede (Summit, CUP) should make this list. When he's focused, Colin Irvine (Walnut Hills, Classics Hammer) can be very good. Same can be said for Ben Jones (Milford, MTSC), Alec Gates (Turpin, CUP) and Andy George (Milford, CUP).

Steve Schaefer from Elder who was the 2nd leading scorer from the regional champions in 2007
Watch out for players in the next couple years from the Classics. That club is much improved!
I notice no players from Westside/Cinti West/CFA
Maybe that is why Oak Hills is not very successful?

I don't know ... I thought Andy had already transferred. To be honest I hope he stays at CHCA. He's an outstanding competitor when he's motivated and I enjoy watching him play.
As for the Classics being better ... they do have some good young teams, but they can never keep the good players and coaches aligned long enough to make something happen. How long has it been since they've won a state cup on the boy's side at any age? I'm not really sure, but it must be something like 10 years. I hope this year ends their hex. After losing Cullina and other coaches, they really need to rebound. I hope they can.
Soccer1976
03-20-08, 06:28 PM
Greg Berning will do a great job handling the boys side from u-13 and up. The club has brought in another great Director after losing a good one in Mike Cullina. You should see some changes as clubs merge OE and the Classics will benefit from this.
The girls are still strong with Clay Revis
So over all the Classics Hammer is the club that everyone will be tending with.

There's some very good talent at the U15 age group at Westside and CFA that is playing at Elder and Colerain right now. A couple of them are playing for Oak Hills too.

IMO spencer is better than both weddle, fink, and lavigne. I'd also argue about dwyer and patterson. those two are the best that OE has to offer. I admire your club loyalty but i don't think the best 3 players much less the best 5 all play for OE. my top 5 in the cincy area would be dwyer, patterson, ben jones, spencer and maybe weddle or fink. not too sure about the fifth spot.

you're on crack if you think ben jones is top 5 in the city. and not good crack, like crack that people smoke in the show the wire. and goggles i think i have a good point because it is quite rare that the top 5 from a city are all on the same team. and if anyone has a reason to be biased for that top 5 its me because i used to play for oe and know all those guys.

please reread my post, i fear you misunderstood me. i said HE would ball on YOU. teams weren't mentioned. and i don't think i said that you're a player in cincinnati, simply that he's better than you and better than most players in cincinnati as well. Your team might have shat on his, but you never shat on him. i guarantee it. ask your oe buddies how good he is. danny and zach know, and if you see him play, now and not when he was a freshman, and can honestly tell me that what i'm saying is not true, then i'll shut up. i honestly don't know what you have against him... maybe that he doesn't play for oe?
cincysoccer2006

i dont have anything against him but you put him on such a pedestal that it is ridiculous at times. i never said he wasnt top 5 players in the city, i think he is, and i know that danny and zach wud attest to that. but saying that he would have balled on me when i was in my prime is ridiculous, no offence to you or him. saying he would ball on me now is correct.
and when we played his team if he had been playing i wud have been matched up against him. neither of the strikers or the attacking midfielder ever got the best of me, and i got the best of them a couple times. 1-0 me. (if he was in fact playing and playing either of those positions)

you were a senior and you allegedly "beat" a kid who was a freshman. excuse me if i'm not impressed. i don't doubt for a second that saying that i would have balled on you in your prime is ridiculous, but you're coming dangerously close to tooting your own horn here. you obviously hold yourself in pretty high regards, at least when you were "in your prime"...

jr and he was a frosh. its ok, public schools dont teach math. and i only had one leg. i did hold myself in pretty high regard when i was in my prime, and i'll toot my own horn as much as you or your brother choose to toot yours. when i actually did play him tho, i would say i wasn't anywhere near my prime. now i am at best a mediocre player, and ill be the first to say that.

ok, 2 years older than this year's seniors means class of '06. correct? that means you're three years ahead of the class of '09, thus when they were freshmen, you were a senior. maybe i read something wrong, and if i did i apologize. i learned enough in public school though. trust me. again, i never talk about myself on here, and neither does he. he laughed when i told him that someone on here called me out for posting about my brother. but i think he's a beast, so i come on here and talk about it. I think most people would agree with the things i have to say about him. i know there's a number of coaches who do or he wouldn't have gone all-state.

Taylor Herman is the most improved player showing up this year. He's one to watch out for. He's younger than most all of the seniors, has height and one of the best ball touches I've seen. He's just coming into his talent as a soccer player and hasn't reached his potential yet.
futbolwatcher9779

i agree with you chaos and creation. ive seen taylor herman play a few times for his club and hes really lead them to be a top state contender. he has been with them i believe since they were a no name in that age group and is the only remaining player since. he also came from a d3 school and made centervilles varsity his first year there, that has never been done in centervilles history. hes quite quick for his size and very light on his feet, hes got great footskills and to add to that hes a huge presence in the air. i believe that loveless didnt give him the time he deserved last year but watch out for him, hes shut down tyler pollock and ben jones multiple times in the ohio elite showcase and last highschool season. i heard george mason, duquense, slu, and possibly greensboro are interested in him so hes one to watch this upcoming season. alex argyris is a great counter attacker and plays great one touch ball so centerville should be strong with players like this next year, though i agree with whoever said beavercreek will be solid, its going to be interesting. i would take out phil haggerty though for chris myton, that kid can really hold the ball up. hes a good clutch foward. bourquin has really fell as of late, people are begining to catch up to his strength and speed, which are really what led him to the top. what about taylor ward from springboro, hes definitely a strong player to add to the oe line up that no one has mentioned.

this is ridiculous. You all talk about playing with or against kids. Most all of you are players in this age group, and therefore, are so subjective.
You are all fighting for your friends and teammates. Seriously, just try to be a bit objective. Because it gets personal and is a joke because its so subjective.
If you are trying to get anything out of reading this site, do some good for everyone, and give them some unbiased, objective info.

this is probly the funniest thing ive ever heard.
taylor herman is not very good. End of story. He is not one to look for this year because he is not even one of the top players for centerville. Bourquin may have lost speed but he has not lost any strength at all and is definitely one of the top defenders for the senior class along with centervilles huber. Myton definitely takes haggerty out of the picture. I thought these things were to put serious thoughts, not jokes

what they were saying about taylor herman was no necessarily that he is a great player but that he had a lot of potential and i agree with that. He has improved a lot as a player. He has good physical traits for the game such as good height and descent size and hes a good player and will get better this coming year.

and not really. OE couldnt even win state cup last yr. so they obviously cant handle every team in ohio. and with metro doing as well as they are this yr who knows if they can even beat em. it was 2-1 there last meeting oe. OE isnt as amazing as you say.
(makes you a Junior in high school?)
3) *we played creek and lost 2-0 on a great game i thought we dominated. and we lost to elder 2-1 on another good game. if beavercreek and stay focused and get some in early i think they would win the game but if they cant stay focused then elder has this one in the bag. should be a great game, im excited to watch it.
is it at 3 on saturday at nmont?
*im gonna be rooting for creek though. i hated elder when we played them. fans were crazy lol

4) *metro and elite would be a good game. last yr elite won 2-1 in a close match. This yr would be another great game. but with the new DA thing there probly never gonna play each other
*Metro has none and Worthington may have a couple idk, but the team that has 6 just got beat by by the teams that have few or none. not much to say
*metro united just beat worthington 2-1. Good to see top teams club wise play again
