View Full Version : CHL in 08
I know its early but, Last year was an incredible race in the CHL! 6 teams were in the running going into the last 2 weeks of the season. Any thoughts on who may be in the running this year?

Reading could be the team to beat this year. Of course either Indian Hill or Finneytown have had a habit of winning the title the last 5 years or so. Madeira, Mariemont, & Wyoming were all in the thick of it too at the end of last year. Key players (that I know of) who are graduating :
IH - Zelek
Madeira - Bascomb - Templeton
Finneytown - Smoker
Reading - Greschel
Wyoming - Kamphaus - Marx (sp?)
should be an interesting year but I think that Reading may have finally arrived & just might be the team to beat. jmo though.

Last year was crazy. I think next year will be similar. Team returning the most starters are Mariemont, Finneytown, and Reading. Indian Hill should also return a strong squad. Past champions from chlsports.com (interesting that Indian Hill's title this year was its first since 2000):

I agree that it will be similar to last year. I think Mariemont, Finneytown and Indian Hill are the favorites. Reading, Wyoming, Madeira and Taylor all have a chance to make some noise. Its amazing how tough this league has become. A few years ago, I would have laughed at mentioning Reading or Taylor as teams having a chance. I think Reading has a more realistic shot than Taylor.

I feel with Simpson at the helm, Reading will be very good for the next couple of years. If it wasn't for McNicholas' improbable post season run, the CHL would have had four district champions last year!

I predict a close race that won't be decided 'till the last night, just like 2007.
Who wants it most?!?
Reading's coach has done an awesome job bringing that program to where its at. There are a lot of great coaches in our league.

:rainbow ..finneytown cant be stopped. im from middletown and im still bragging for them. the sophomore class is amazing and the freshman have one decent dude..
Finneytown is one of the favorites, but I don't think they're unstoppable. There are other teams that have a lot coming back. They tied 4 games in the league last year - we'll see....

I believe like most that this will be a tight race to the end. The intensity you see in the players is amazing. Every team will give their all to win it. Can't wait for another exciting season.
