youth wrestling districts

Just wanted to let all Spartan fans know Springfield has 9 youth wrestlers that qualified for the district tournament at Medina Highland on Sunday Feb. 3rd those who finish in the top four in thier weight class get a ticket to states next week end. i will update after sundays tourney to let those interested know how they did..

Tell your wrestlers don't give up. I have seen the best wrestlers go down early in these tourneys. Keep them focused, and shrink there heads down a bit, because they are going against the best.

Good luck to all the youth Spartans!! Hey Kev, keep Zack's head focused. He could be Springfield's first state champ for quite a while.

he has had a good week of practices. i would love for him to bring it home to springfield, but i am proud of him no matter what, he has stuck with it for 3 years now when i thought he was not going to make it past the first and i hope he continues to enjoy the sport and he really does enjoy it now. i want to wish tristan and terrell the best this weekend too, they have worked just as hard as anybody to get here. i hope we have a j.h. wrestling program next year... just a shout out to all parents who have a heavier younger wrestler or kid in any sport keep them active in sports they will take their lumps for a while when they are young but there will come a day when they will give the lumps and become a better person for over coming adversity.

good luck to jimmy and rusty i will be cheering for them they will always be spartans to me....

wow what a weekend saw some great wrestling very exciting (and stressfull for mom and dad) terrell wrestled great as did tristan and zach i am proud of them all..
zach lost in the finals to the kid he beat in the semi-finals at districts they battled all season congrates to him and his family they are some great people i'm sure they will meet again..

CONGRATULATIONS to all you guys. Maybe next year you can help me persuade my boy to wrestle, I think once he would get out there he would love it. It has to be better than sitting in front of the TV playing video games for 4 months!

true true true if my kid did not wrestle he would be about 160 by now. i love video games but they have ruined some childrens athletic careers it kind of like a drug to them...they get hooked and nothing else really matters they can become L.T. on the playstation with only moving their thumbs. i have found that nothing fuels the desire to work hard more than real competition.. J.D. your son would excell at wrestling no doubt.. its never to late to start just look at anthony gary i believe he never wrestled until he was a sophmore..
