Everyone knows who Tom Brady is, but do they know who Christopher Brady is?

http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2007/05/16/this_rookies_story_sure_sounds_familiar/

FOXBOROUGH -- A few weeks before the draft, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels ventured to De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif., to work out quarterback Matt Gutierrez, an alumnus of the Northern California Catholic school. De La Salle coach Bob Ladouceur was eager to put in a good word about Gutierrez, who helped De La Salle set the national record for consecutive victories (151).

"I said, 'I can't tell you anything about his mechanics. You know that stuff better than me, but I can tell you about his character,' " said Ladouceur. According to the legendary coach, McDaniels replied, "We know about his character. We think he's a lot like the guy we have now."

That guy is Tom Brady.

It's easy to scoff at the notion that a 22-year-old undrafted quarterback from Idaho State is worthy of being compared to Tom Terrific, but the two have a lot in common. Both are from Northern California. Both attended the University of Michigan -- Gutierrez was a much-ballyhooed recruit of the Maize and Blue and spent four years in Ann Arbor before transferring to Division 1-AA Idaho State to finish his college career. At Michigan, both battled freshman phenoms who wore No. 7 (Drew Henson for Brady, Chad Henne for Gutierrez).

And in the truth-is-stranger-than-fiction category, the principal of De La Salle is Brother Christopher Brady, Tom's uncle.

Shocking update: Every single player on both the Patriots and Giants rosters played high school football. Rumor has it that there are 43 other high schools who can claim to have the same number of starters in the game as does DLS. Film at 11.

Homerism gone wild.

but CC had more nausea rating than DLS and if CC had not get their ----- kicked for 2 and a half quarters they would have had even more nausea

and CC was not the most worthy nausea team from socal anyway

you missed the point completelyNo, didn't miss the point at all. OK so DLS has a 3rd string QB on the Pats who has made no impact at all other than to keep the clipboard warm. You think it's worth beating your chest about, I think not. If the Ravens or Jags had made the SB, with starters facing each other, OK, worth mentioning. I'm a huge M.Gutierrez fan, but the fact is that he's an emergency QB is not noteworthy as far as the SB XLII matchup is concerned.

My suspicion is that this is no extraordinary feat - probably done by LB Poly numerous times given the number of players that they have put in the NFL.

Thank you. We're beggining to border on mental illness with this stuff.

In the last two weeks this board has gone nuts. Over that period, the post count leaders on this board are:

Consumerman 105
Pied 53
Chicago 44
SLCDad 35
Skyway 34
Elwood 14

A large percentage of the posts fall into the "mental illness" category that you describe IMO.

Very few of these posts have added any value at all.

(No doubt this post will generate more the the same)

Which Texas poster and SLC backer has over 3500 posts on an OHIO CHAT BOARD ...

whose team has never played in Ohio
whose team has never traveled anywhere

and therefore really has no business being on an Ohio chat board

and then calls out posters for how many posts they make?

until SLC - MNW was announced

and then started SEVEN THREADS on SLC-MNW

in one thread he called them thugs?

I can see where this is more appropriate for the college board, but whatever.

Since the other thread was locked I have to respond to you here.

I never said that my topic was not appropriate for a college board.

I am just saying for UncleBaldy to be FAIR. If my topic was for a college board, then Consumerman and UncleBaldy's belong on the NFL board. Plain and Simple.

Consumerman started a topic of DLS beating the Steelers. Consumerman was clearly referring to an NFL athlete who went to DLS.

Then UncleBaldy continued the lunacy.

I was referring to a college athlete who went to SLC and it was removed immediately.

I really don't expect you to understand Pied since all you do is see things from everyone elses perspective besides other Texans in your feeble attempts to be UNBIASED.

I think you misunderstood my "but whatever". What I meant is that I don't think it's that big of a deal. If I had a vote, I would vote with you although I see the point UB was making, but it's not my baord and I don't have a vote, so whatever.
