Everyone is well aware of the incredible talent MNW in their senior class. The University of Miami knows this more than anyone. The real question is, how far with their talent fall off with this great exodus? Is it going to be a wild scramble to fills these massive holes or are people already in place to step up and fill these slots?

They are always good but I don't think Coach Billy Rolle was as good as Roland Smith.
Look for Booker T Washington to reload and St. Thomas Aquinas to reload. MNW will still be good though. Lakeland will be good next year too. Watch out for Tampa Plant. Aaron Murray and company (including WR Dungy who is Tony Dungy's son). The same HS that current Miami Redshirt Freshman for 08 Robert Marve came from. he broke Tim Tebow's records and Aaron Murray is about to shatter them all.

Which Tebow record(s) did Marve break?

they remind me of a texas team 2003 north shore. Extremely good on both sides of the ball and nearly unstoppable. Problem with teams like this is that they're rare.

They'll still be quite talented and athletic. But, there will be a talent drop-off in 2008. And, I agree that Billy Rolle is not the coach-at least offensively- that Smith was. I think we'll see this Bulls team be more like the others under Smith. They'll be more run-orinted and less dynamic offensively. They'll lose one or two games.

I think Billy Rolle is a better coach than Roland Smith. At least that's what history says.
It's hard to argue with 3 state titles at 2 different schools.

I don't neccesarily mean Smith is better than Rolle. I think, on a national level, MNW may come down because I think they will become more conservative/less dynamic offensively. As they were under Rolle the first time around.
Dade teams could not reach a nationally elite status for a period of many years, IMO, because they were severely lacking on offense. By spreading the field and running what is (the spread) at its core an offense with very simple principles, Dade teams gained a chance to be great on offense. By spreading the field with guys who are flat out better than the defenders covering them, offense became easy.
They go back to run, run, run, throw a bomb, run, run, they will not get my endorsement for representing Florida's best on a national level. They can still compete and win 6A, but they wouldn't be able to go to Dallas and beat an SLC running the offense they did in 1998.
If they stick with and effectively implement and execute the spread, they can get back to a similar level. Just not this year. Lakeland has a great program with 6 state titles since 1986, yet losing so many experienced, talented players in one year still knocked them down a little bit the very next year. I expect a similar outcome with MNW in 2008.

I expect them to come back down too.
But I think it has more to do with them losing 10+ elite level college prospects.
Of course their offense will change given that they will be losing an elite and efficient QB that could run the show. The athletes are always there, although not always as good as Johnson and Streeter, but the difference will be at QB.
Running back will be a strength and defense will be good. So I expect the weakness to be at QB in the beginning.

And like I said I think the style of O they run will be key. There will be mistakes and a drop in production from the QB no matter what. I think they need to stick with the spread O rather than going back to the offense of old.

Jacory's backup Wayne Times looked pretty good the few times I say him. He's only 5'10" 165 lbs. So physically he doesn't stand out but if he can even be adequate they should be able to run the ball and still win a lot of games.
I pulled this list from a Texas board. Here's a list of MNW recruits signing this year. It's a fantastic group of talent that will have to be replaced.
QB Jacory Harris - Miami
** WR Aldarius Johnson - Miami
** WR Tommy Streeter - Miami
WR Kendall Thompkins - Miami
* OL Ben Jones - Miami
* OL Brandon Washington - Miami
** DL Marcus Forston - Miami
* LB Sean Spence - Miami
LB Quavon Taylor - USF
OL Terrell Killings - Howard
WR Brandon Drayton - Howard
DE Jamal Collins - Central Michigan
LB Levonte David - Middle Tenn. State
DB Steve Gallon - Morgan State
WR Robert Demps - not signed yet, look for him to sign soon
** = Rivals 100 player
* = Rivals 250 player
Few whole states have that many top 100 and top 250 players and no single team is even close.
Another 5 underclassmen in 2007 should sign next year for a total of 20 starters (I think) on the 2007 team.
Not bad.

MNW will reload and win a lot of games. They may not win state next year but they will be in the thick of it.

The rumor is Long Beach Poly is coming to Miami to play MNW.
