View Full Version : Best Remaining Road Trip

What is the best single day of games left in the country this year?

I am leaning toward either the Texas 5A championship doubleheader, the California championship tripleheader, or (in a dark horse entry) the three California Southern Section championship games that will be played at the Home Depot Center on the same day.

Any suggestions?

It is unlikely I will make a trip this year, but I'd at least like to weigh my options.

If Permian makes the final, the weekend in San Antonio could be epic.

If not it may be disappointing. The finals in one location hinders some fans, especially if they can sit at home and watch it live on TV. You only have to look at last year. Both games were a little disappointing.

Forget that if MOJO makes it back. They will be there in force, and could potentially have a amatchup with undefeated GPNS/Cy Ridge with super star QB Russell Sheppard.

You could also have the Dragon contingent going after history against Katy or hometown SV/Madison.

You probably know that SA is a good place and the Alamodome is within walking distance of the Riverwalk, a fun place for visitors. Plenty of great stuff to do/see in the Hill Country.

In addition:

Tex Mex/BBQ>Fish Taco/Tri Tip

Mojo would be a key for me.

The three meals I had in California last year were Denny's/Subway/McDonald's.

I am not really the local flavor type. Although I did spend a year in Austin, and I loved the food, or at least I would have, if I hadn't been beyond broke.

Wow. I would tell you to get out more often, but I guess it wouldn't matter.

In CA you went to Denny's/Subway/McDonald's instead of Marie Callendar's/Claim Jumper/In & Out?????

When I went to the Herbie I went to Skyline Chili (not a great meal to eat while driving, by the way).

Does that count for anything?

I love Skyline and the concept. Don't agree that you can put beans in chilli, but it is great none the less.

Driving while eating it does not seem to be a good idea however.

I agree with pied. Mojo v North Shore. SLC versus Katy and a 10 minute walk to the Riverwalk and the best margaritas in the world. No contest.

I wouldn't mind seeing this weekend's rematch between Euless Trinity and Odessa Permian. Permian won 30-3 earlier this year. Trinity is out for revenge this week.

Is that game on TV anywhere?

I do not believe so.

Umm forget what I said. I'd look at a nice CA holiday and see the Home Depot Center.
