Yes good luck Varsity players................
Coaches should ask the Varsity players when the J.V. players should play......
The varsity players earned this trip not the jv players...............
You may piss off parents who's kids haven't played very much this year.....

The way I look at it is, if your kid was on varsity and didn't play much this year, maybe he should have played for the JV. So, how is that kid any more deserving to go and play than the three kids that were chosen to fill out the roster? Also, as parents of these kids who didn't play much, you need to ask yourself if your kid would have been bigger impact players than the three that were chosen if they would have played JV. Probably not! I'm sure if you're honest with yourself you'll agree. I'd like to say GOOD LUCK IN FLORIDA "SPARTANS"!
The real Spartan.

Sure, 8th graders playing jv. sounds like you don't know who plays on Varsity.

Ditto on the good luck part!!
But how did this thread turn into another complaint about who gets to play?

I'm well aware of who plays on varsity. I just assumed that the eigth graders were the ones who were playing. And, by the way, there has been eigth graders that have played on the JV before.

Greetings from sunny Daytona Beach!! The kids are having a blast!
Wednesday-
The Team arrived in FL around 1:00 PM. Most all of them headed straight to the Beach. 83 degress and sunny with huge waves, dude. At 4:00 PM, team went and weighed in and had team pictures. After that, back to the beach.
Thursday-
Morning Breakfast from 7:00 to 8:30 AM.
Practice on the Beach from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
From 11:30 to 2:30, Team and Coaches went and scouted the 2 Teams we will play on Friday(schedule below). Thanksgiving Dinner for all Players, Coaches, Parents and Family members taking place at 4:00. Team film session later at night. In rooms by 10:00 PM.
Friday-
Morning breakfast from 7:00- 8:30 AM.
Practice on Beach from 9:00 - 10:00 AM.
Game vs Doral, FL at 12:30 PM
Saturday-
Breakfast from 7:00 - 8:30 AM.
game vs Libertyville, IL
Both Teams are pretty good. FL has a lot of speed with not much size, IL has size along with being very physical.
I will try and download some pictures later, as well as updating wehn I can. But for now, its back to the Beach.

This is my first post. I just wanted to let the boys and coaches know that they rep. Springfield and syf very well. The game I got 2 c the team play they played their butts off the hole game. They losst in the last min when the other team broke a long run that the back made some great cuts on. The Spartans got the ball back and started to move the ball but ran out of time. Remember you boys are winners and you made your old coach very proud of you keep your grades up.

Even though the Players were unsuccesful in bringing home a National Championship, they won the hearts of all the Springfield fans and coaches, with their constant fight to win football games. Emotions were overflowing the entire trip as the Football players left everything they had on the Field. The first game they played, was one of the most exciting Youth games I have ever been a part of, or seen for that matter. Even though they lost in the final minute, they stood toe to toe, with some of the best Varsity players from the Miami-Dade County. The fans were incredible, the atmosphere was one you would see in a World Cup Soccer game. The kids never gave up fighting back time after time only to run out of time at the opponents 40 yard line. The loss was hard to take, but the kids will learn from it, and use it in life, as they grow older. Thank you to all the kids who made this one of the best years in my life. I love everyone one of those kids, as if they were my own. I have never coached a group of kids, who had more heart and desire to win, than this group. Thank you to all the Players from the bottom of my heart.
I would like to personally thank all the Fans, Family members, Cheerleaders, and Friends who took part in this trip. I think we all eperienced memories to last a lifetime. Thank you.
And lets not forget, the Springfield Varsity Cheerleaders were sucessful in bringing back a National Championship for our Town. Congratulations girls!!
