Well if West can take them to PK's, they are obviously not unstoppable. I think West and Elder are both high calibur teams. If West can get in shots, Elder should be able to do the same. Should be another great one.
Any scouting report on Beavercreek?? Any studs?

Time and date? I hope I can make it and support the *Gulp* Panthers again as I did tonight.

If X beats Elder in football I will officially become a Colerain fan!
I'll welcome you with open arms... I just couldn't stand to root for Mason the way that game played out on Saturday, therefore Elder was my only choice, bring the hardware home men.

As a whole, the entire starting front line of Beavercreek looks pretty fast....#6 and #10 in the mid are super fast and the other mids #10 and #8 are also strong players....#20 at forward is strong and physical...#9 the other forward stays up top and is very fast....all of them are reasonably skilled ..their defense is young and kind of small, but doing a great job.... the bench is deep with players that would start anywhere else....look for a lot of substitutions! prediction: 2-1 Creek

Didn't your team play both goggles?
Whats your prediction?

# 10 and #16 in the middle are good, # 6 and 19 were both pretty quick along with the other 2
tyler pollack didn't really do much, but 13 goals speaks for itself i guess
their attack gets a little redundant at times
they're beatable in the back, but pretty solid

we played creek and lost 2-0 on a great game i thought we dominated. and we lost to elder 2-1 on another good game. if beavercreek and stay focused and get some in early i think they would win the game but if they cant stay focused then elder has this one in the bag. should be a great game, im excited to watch it.
is it at 3 on saturday at nmont?
im gonna be rooting for creek though. i hated elder when we played them. fans were crazy lol

I pick Beavercreek 3-1....Beavercreek has speed everywhere with some skill. They do not mind a physical game. Do not think Elder will be able to keep up with them.

from what i heard about the mason game elders forwards were tired at he 20 min mark. this could be a big deal if beavercreek can capitalize

Beavercreek 3-1
I've read all the available posts about Elder and have come to the conclusion that Beavercreek is too deep for Elder to keep up. Scoring will take place in the latter parts of both halves.

I think it will be a ---- of alot closer than that. I personally think that if Elder subbed out one of their center-mids, they would have gotten beat regardless of how tired they were. Having those center-mids were essential to beating Mason. The Mason midfield is the most skilled midfield I've ever seen in highschool. They worked together perfectly. I don't think Elder's bench would have made any contributions in that aspect besides cause some confusion.
Now as for beavercreek, I've heard they use their forwards to score goals. Yes, they have a good team and a good midfield but I don't think they are as good as Mason in that area. Therefore, the center-mids will be able to handle more of the workload for Elder. The defense won't get tired as fast. I think this game will be a better matchup for Elder's bench to sub. All of Beavercreek's studs are not all midfielders.
Also, if Beavercreek has a small D then Elder will dominate in the air. Speed doesn't help save throw-ins and cornerkicks.
I think it will be an evenly matched game.

i do agree that beavercreeks small defense will have a VERY hard time with meyer and the other big forward.

Well honestly, I'll be surprised if they even have a game tomorrow. Seriously. With all the game times & location changes that I've seen on here in the last 2 days.....I swear it's getting ridiculous. It'll be a miracle if both teams end up at the same field tomorrow at the same time. Good Lord! Never seen anything like it.
Good luck though Elder. I'm pulling for you guys.

That's what everyone has been saying all year. Beavercreek's Defense has disrupted almost every offense they've played against, what will be so different this time?

what just happened is what would be different. There defense couldnt stop the big tall forwards of elder. therefor two goals scored off of throw ins was the result
I was impressed. Thought Creek's forwards were big, strong, fast, and skilled.
Elder's D was up to the challenge. Wasn't easy for Creek playing from behind for most of the game. Meyer had a terrific game -- 2 throw-in assists and 1 goal. He and Schaeffer are fun to watch!
Corbett = WOW today. VERY impressed with his play and leadership. That kid don't quit. Would have loved to see his free kick hit that upper-90 late in the 1st half. What a strike!

I agree MrBill. It was fun to finally go to a match where BOTH sides had a flashy and impressive forward or two. Makes the game exciting and fun to watch (compared to say a Mason, where its mostly defense and nothing much happens offensively).
Anthony Meyers was nothing short of brilliant. Strong throw-ins and great shots. His strength and pace clearly make him an an all Ohio player. Schaeffer also played well. Having said this, midfielder Chris Corbett may have been the most best player on the field. He's poised and solid, just a great all-round player. David Hurley's performance in goal was one of the best I have seen all year. The pk was a crappy call.
At the other end, I thought Beavercreek had great forwards as well. They challenged the Elder defense the whole game. #20 was big and strong , advancing the ball, shielding and holding space as well as anyone I have seen. #9 was fast and skilled, had some of the best moves and cuts I have seen in along time, he "schooled" the Elder defenders on several occasions. I though BCs left back (#14 I think) was great. He handled the Elder forwards well during the run of the game. His tackles were quick and he often left with the ball before the striker knew what happened. I think that BC coaches outsmarted themselves by subbing so much. Apparently they thought that they could wear down Elder. They were wrong! Beavercreek's subs were no match for Elder's starters. The team looked confused at times, maybe because of all the subbing.
The game was marred by poor reffing and the last minute field change, but all and all a great game to watch. Good luck Elder!!!

Elder won this game because they were the better team yesterday. My son plays with a couple of the creek players and they are good. Tyler Pollack is overrated as a player in whole. Parts of his game are great, but mostly he's bad. Never been able to play in a big game. Elder capitalized on creek's weakness (it's one weakness) is defensive size.
Overall, if this game was played 10 times, the results would be even. But unfortunately it is not, and Elder moves on. Congratulations Beavercreek on a magical year and a wonderful job of bringin soccer in southwest ohio a lot of coverage.

Are the Elder and beavercreek forwards really juniors?
If so, I predict a great rematch next year!

there wont be a rematch of this next year. Games like this only come around once in a ling while. What does BC and Elder have coming back? BC should be a lock to make it to district finals, but from there........who knows? ELder, as always, has a tough run through the GCL and they play great Cincinnati teams. We'll see about a rematch, but dont count on it.
could be wrong but i thought beavercreek had 9 starting juniors this year. if so then we could definately see them at this same stage of the tournament again next year. not so sure about elder. the only big player i can think of that is returning next year for them would be steve schaeffer.

Creek has 14 returning Varsity players next year - 13 juniors and 1 soph. They had 4 starting seniors. The two starting forwards are both juniors. Next year should be another good one for Creek.

The 2 starting forwards for beavercreek this year will be back again next year along with the 3 defenders, there will also be 2 returners in the midfield.

I'd like to see Pollock be able to use his left more. He didn't like dribbling to his left or playing with his left. I thought he was too predictable and too easy to defend. He does have speed.

two of the starting offense are seniors, midfielders Corey Gladden and Zach Lempke. The rest are juniors. I believe that there are 13 returning juniors on varsity and another 8 or 9 juniors on JV.
