 I checked the black stripe website for green and got a phone number for Don Schults and I called him and he said that more kids get hurt in our league than his. He said 90% of injuries are caused at kickoffs. I really dont know the facts but I did see against the green team last week a kid get his arm or wrist broke on a kickoff. And my son said two varsity kids were hurt on green during a punt and a extra point. I want to voice my opinion but the way the coaches are if I do he wont ever get to play. My husband tells me to shut up. There are to many other parents who feel the same way. I told them to voice there opinion on here as soon as they get the facts. If anybody knows anyone with info about bigger kids positive and negative please post. thanks:shrug:

Well, football is a tough sport, and injuries will happen, especially if you play long enough. Kids at young ages shouldn't even kick off. They should start each drive at the 25 yard line.

But, there are even injuries in cheerelading at young ages.

If there are facts to back up the statement, that 90% of injuries happen on kickoffs, I would entertain the thought of removing Kickoffs, but I highly doubt that is true. I've been around Youth Football for many a year, and injuries are present throughout the entire game, not just Special Teams.

The injury to the young man at Green happend on a Punt Return. He was caught off balance running the Punt back, when he was hit in the legs. As he was coming down, he put his arm out to soften the contact with the ground when it bent the wrong way. Could have happened on any other play throughout the game. I was at the Varsity game also, and do remember any injuries on a Punt and Extra point, but I could be wrong.

Do we want to remove Punt and Punt Return also?
