Since it looks like the Herbie thread hasn't been kept as a sticky on the Ohio board, I thought I'd put up some articles about Buford on the National Board instead. The Buford Wolves ran their record to 5-0 with a 42-7 win over Greater Atlanta Christian (GAC).
GAC's claims to fame include being where William Andrews (formerly of the Atlanta Falcons) sends/sent his kids, and it's where Caleb King transferred after he became "disenchanted" at Parkview. You should see their campus; it's ridiculous for a little Class AA school.
Buford is still the #1 ranked team in Class AA in Georgia, and I'd say they're cruising for their fifth state title. They've won three state titles since 2001 -- one in Class A and two in Class AA.

Buford could encounter a bump or two in the road, Charlton, Stephens, and Dublin, although the Irish are down from last year.Buford is a nice team but here in Georgia, no one actually believes Buford could win AAA(LaGrange) AAAA(Northside-Warner Robins) and we will not even discuss AAAAA.

I doubt it. I don't think anyone in Class AA will come within 2 TDs of the Wolves this year. While I don't think Buford could win either the Class AAAA or Class AAAAA state titles either, I think you'd be surprised at how far they could get in those playoffs.
As for Class AAA, although I don't put huge stock into scrimmages, you can't ignore Buford's 34-0 pasting of Flowery Branch in their scrimmage. (Flowery Branch is currently the #7 team in Class AAA in Georgia.) I think you're absolutely kidding yourself if you don't think Buford could at least compete for the Class AAA title.

Yeah Buford could compete in AAA.Their season would most likely be over as soon as a date with LaGrange or Peach Cty. was concluded. Look they are a very good team but lets not get too carried away.
I think you are kidding yourself. If you take the Atlanta Constitution very seriously.Their writers have a long tradition of being wrong, especially with regards to pigskin prognostication on the high school level.
Until Buford beats Charlton, something Buford has had loads of problems doing, Charlton is still the king of AA.Buford may have the tools to overcome the hurdle this year.Know this though, it more than likely will not be a walk in the park some people may believe.Even at AA level.
This may not be of great significance but Grove City is by a wide margin the largest school Buford has played this year. With an ADA of approx 1800, GC would be a large AAAA or small AAAAA school as classified by enrollment.
Below is a site with scores and records of most Georgia teams from 1948-last week.In the forums there are links to the Atlanta City School League with scores and records going back to preWWI.Note Boys High and Tech High's willingness to take on teams from Fl,Al,Ma,NJ,NY,Pa,La,Mz,SC,NC,Va,Ms,Ar, and elsewhere.Through 1946 Boys and Tech High sometimes would play 5 OOS teams per year. And would usually do 2 year home and away.

I'm not sure that would be the case this year. Buford would definitely beat Peach County this season, and I think a game with LaGrange would be very close.

Actually, you'd be surprised at how often the top ranked school in the AJC's final regular season poll actually ends up winning the state title. While I agree that some of their writers are flaky, they rarely miss out on having the state champ in their final regular season top 5. I think you'd also find that, most of the time, they do better than the AP poll.

You're forgetting that Buford won state titles from 2001 to 2003, including beating Charlton County 31-3 for the Class AA state title in 2003. (I know, I saw Darius Walker tear it up in that game in person at Buford.) That wasn't that long ago. No way Charlton touches them this year.

One thing Charlton has going for them is not being intimidated, or awed in the least over Buford. And they know how to win. From a team speed standpoint the Indians can hold their own as well. The blue chips are not in abundunce in Folkston this year but a bunch of good players are still in that program.Buford may, and thats a big may, beat Charlton this year ( if not it may be awhile) on paper the tools are there for Buford to win.But it won't be a DAR picnic for them.
