Are the rankings independent of 2006 yet, or do some teams still have a few games to go?

Consumerman, you have been mocking these rankings for months and months. You have ripped the Freeman model to shreds in dozens of your posts. You said the Freeman/Calpreps rankings are a joke.

Now you are quoting them.

Why the change of heart?

I'll remain consistent. These ratings seem silly to me.

Since you guys seem to like the Freeman/Calpreps model and are proud to post how many teams are ranked, I suppose you will also like this (which comes from the same model).

To piggyback off of SLCDad's point.

consumerman, some of your comments on theses rankings. or at least last year's version:

I have continously challeneged the strength of schedule rankings as flawed because it has 7-5 teams that were oustcored this year ranked as the top 2% of teams in thenation which is ridiculous

that has gone unchallenged

and since the strength of schedule so strongly touted by daditis and the link is used to justify why some teams are ranked so high, the whole system falls like a house of cards

you can debate why this piece of garbage is overranked so high at #328 or you can submit that the rankings are flawed

or you can go back to being a brokeback ridgepunk and throw insults and avoid FACTS

clearly this is flawed data based on schedule strength data which had been PROVEN OVER AND OVER TO BE BIASED DATA

YAWN

the data is incredibly flawed

if you think a 10-4 team that gives up almost 300 points is among the top 50 teams in the nation, that says everything about your credibility and the credibility of the strenght of schedule which is what the rankings use to justify everything

horribly flawed data

can not be challenged

garbage data

ok????? So what would you like us to think here?????

I just have to laugh

Whenever there is some positive rankings on Slc daditis rushed out a post titled new rankings or interesting reading and garbled on and on about how great that perfect little city team is (despite choking away 5 turnovers)

Now that slc had another miserable perfomance and they dropped again I thought I would give dad a taste of his own medicine

Once Mnw loses slc will freefall even further

Thx to all of you for falling for my prank

I like where they put Mooney. They could very well be the best in Ohio.

Corona Cent has a date @ Mater Dei on Thurs, Oct 4. IMHO, CC doesnt belong on this list. MD does belong. At any rate, on Oct 5, one of these two teams will be sent home with no ranking. I suspect MD will still be hanging around.

Note:
I picked Birmingham by 24 over Crespi. B lost 20-6)
I picked Poly by 35 over Birmingham (Poly lost 20-7)
I picked Notre Dame by 21 over B'ham. (B won, 28-21)

I obviously cant predict worth a schitt!!!

I honestly don't know. But I thought I'd point out Ohio since you felt the need to point out CA.

A team that can score on 75% or more of their possessions could beat St. X (because they won't get that many offensive series' the way X manages the clock). St. X's offense can milk a clock if necessary. A team would have to force Hurley to beat them through the air all day and eliminate Ashley and the rushing offense. A team would have to be capable of sustaining long drives each possession because they will almost always start a drive at the 20. Capitalize/create turnovers. Several things would have to go right, but it's possible. No team is invincible. IMHO.

Weight for weight, I would agree with your statement. They are very impressive for a Division IV team and are easily the equal of many Division I teams if not better than most. It will be an interesting game if they face Steubenville in the playoffs.

Being from there, I would love to see Steubie win. However, right now that would be like climbing Mount Everest.
