Riley spent Tuesday night in the hospital as a result of dehydration. It was 102 in Southlake and the team is in the midst of two-a-days. He was held out of practise on Wednesday but will be back today. He just over did it in the heat. He will be fine.

As the entire nation saw on Dec 23, Riley Dodge has as much heart as any player you will ever find. His work ethic is off the charts. In the state title game he almost single handedly led SLC to 6 straight TDs to win the title. (Except for an interception on the goal line, it would have been seven straight TDs.)

He practises as hard as he plays, but this time it put him in the hospital.

Hopefully Erin gives everyone in Texas a break in the weather. It has been a brutal two weeks after a very mild summer by Texas standards. Its one thing to come to two a days acclimated to the heat, its another thing to face the heat for the first time at two a days. Hope all coaches are cautious. I think this is a particularly dangerous start of football in Texas.
