Well, here we go.
Moeller knocks off St. Xavier in Dayton and Cleveland. Looks like another great GCL Season. Magowan, Beringer, and Dorn will carry the Crusaders to second place behind LaSalle for the GCL Golf Crown of 2007.
St. Xavier can sit back and watch football on ESPN. They are a bunch of spoiled kids who crumble under competition.

losing to moeller on our bad days by 1 and 3 when they had good days isnt the most shameful thing in the world. not to mention we didnt even have our full lineup this week (graham will be back in the next week). we lost by 1 having to take an 85....thats a 5 shot win on a normal day.
but anyways how about cincinnati ripping the rest of the state to pieces?

X takes the GCL south by 20+. Saying otherwise is ridiculous.
St. X's problem is that they are a much better 6 man team than they are a 5 man team this year. Having both Ionna and Crane in the top 6 is fine, but if you put them both in the top 5, it's a big problem since neither is very consistent (i.e. redtail).
Graham, Keating, and Buse have all proven their worth by this point, everyone knows what those 3 can do. If Harpenau is able to keep playing this kind of golf throughout the fall, watch the ---- out.
State is also somewhat of a question mark for X. People had high expectations last year, but the team was simply too short to compete at Scarlet. What little length they did have in players such as Burch, it didn't matter because he was benched after forgetting how to play golf.
But this year is a different story. Keating and Buse are both significantly longer off the tee than they were a year ago, and it wasn't a big issue for Graham last year. Also, out of Harpeneau, Ionna, and Crane there is plenty of length to play well at Scarlet. St. X certainly has the potential this year, but they still have to get the job done.
As for individual title, I say Keating.

X will not will GCL by 20+ shots, saying so is rediculous. Do they have a good shot at winning...sure, but to say they will win by a landside is dumb. Moeller has beaten X in every tournament so far so to say that X is incredibly better is ignorant.
As for GCL POY I definately have to go with Chris Burger. Chris is just a more consistantly lower than Keating at this point. Don't count out a surprise winner like last year. You could easily have the fourth or best all around player in the league play really well in two or three matches and suddenly be in the running for POY.

Its still really early to decide who will win GCL but it is hard to beat X in a 6 man match. If Keating, Buse, and Graham play to their potential it is already over and X wins. But Moeller is giving much less room for error than what was expected this summer.
