Pinehurst is being sued 8 million dollars!

Pinehurst i sbeing sued $8,000,000 because some guy got hit in the head by a ball in 2003 and now all of a sudden he is sueing. He clams that he has brain damage from it! The guy that hit him lives in Australia...i know this because i know Don Padgett II the manager of Pinehurst. I just made this thread to hear peoples thoughts about this because to me it sounds like a load of crap. The guy is just trying to get money and i doubt he has brain damage. Has anybody even been hit in the head by a ball and if so did it really cause brain damage?

Without knowing the details i can say this has almost no chance. There is an assumed risk when going on a golf course.

I have been hit in the head and i just got a minor concusion out of it so, no i cant unless it is a line drive and you were standing like 10 feet away.

ive been hit in the head on one bouce right in that soft spot between the eye and the ear and im fine atleast i think i am. and this has no chance if ur gonna sue someone i would have to make the caseagainst hte guy who hit it and mb u can argue there was no fore call idk

exactly. If your hit with knowledge that you can hit the group in front of you and do not make an effort to warn them then their is a possibility of liability but even then it is hard to prove.

You can die getting hit in the head with a golf ball if it hits you in the right spot. But I would guess you assume that risk just like at PGA events. You see people get hit all the time.

I don't see how he could win unless there was intend or neglience on the guy who hit the ball.

i was messing around on the golf course with one of my buddies once and i was laying infront of hit while he teed off to watch the ball go over my head and he hit it right inbetween my eyes and i was knocked out for an hour and a half and suffered brain damage
