The battle for the Shoe continues this Friday night. Have you purchased your tickets? Should be a great match up. Look for a huge crowd and get there early.
Interesting questions:
-With coach Vaughn leaving, and now at Ellet, will that impact the outcome of this game? Will Coach Mazur have any surprises up his sleeve, or will he just go right at Ellet and take what is given?
-How will the Springfield players handle the hostile crowd?
-Will Ellet's supposed D-1 bound QB, be able to pick apart Springfields D ?

My view of the game, and opinions:
Springfield played tough for 3 quarters. Ellet was the better team, but Springfield showed signs of improvement. Offensive Line needs work with pass protection, as the QB was running for his life the whole game. 9 Sacks is proof enough. No adjustments were made at halftime. QB was being preasured, yet they never adjusted and went to quick, short, pass routes. Running game was stellar, but sacks and penalties stalled drives all nite. Defense played well. They kept Wicks and Keppler in check for 3 qtrs, just ran out of steam in the 4th. Neither Wicks nor Keppler impressed me. Maybe they had a bad game, or maybe Springfields Defense is that good.
Springfields strengths in the preseason, has been a ball controlled Offense, with off tackle runs, QB boots with option to run or pass, and short, quick pass routes, yet only one QB boot was called, and only 2 short pass routes were run. With game tied at 7, with a minute to go in the half, Springfield had the ball at Ellets 40 yard line, but the Coach elected to run out the clock. I don't get it:shrug: . On the road, with a chance to go up 7 at half, and you run the clock out? Oh well. Hopefully the coaches watch the film, correct the mistakes, and come out with a game plan for Green this week.
I'm out.

I didn't think Tallmadge would have much trouble with Ellet. I was not impressed with Ellet after week one. Good luck to the Devils this week against Winton Woods. I don't know anything about them, but I'm sure Coach Vass will do his homework and have the team prepared.
ANd don't forget, we were the ones who banged up Wicks for you.;)
