View Full Version : Springfield/Tallmadge 7on7s
Didn't get to see it but heard that the 7on7s between Tallmadge and Springfield was played fairly even. Springfield should take their positive showings in the summer and translate them into some wins in the fall to make a run at the playoffs.

Springfield is slowly coming around and I think the players are starting to believe in themselves. This group of kids, are tired of losing and are looking to turn things around. They have fought through injuries, coaching changes, and in-elgibilities and not using that as an excuse anynore. They realize this is the year they need to make a statement. No more 1 and 2 win seasons. They feel they can compete with anybody in the League, and are focused on getting the job done. So far in their 7 on 7's, they have looked good against 3 of the four teams they faced, Rootstown, Manchester, and Tallmadge. They only had 2 Seniors who played yesterday. The rest were Sophs and Jrs. They were missing one of their best WR's yesterday ,but still managed to put a lot of points on the board. I think we'll have a better idea how they stack up, once the contact scrimmages begin.

Not sure what game you were at, but it wasn't Spring/Tallmadge. They played each other pretty even, everytime the starters were in. tallmadge did score 3 times in one Series, but Springfield had 2 of their own then came back in the next series and outscored Tallmadge 3-2. I'd call that pretty even.
On a side note, once the 2nd teamers started getting some time, Springfield crushed Tallmadge, scoring at will. Are you sure you were at the right game?
If you put that much emphasis on 7 on 7's to predict a teams upcoming season, obviously you know nothing about Football and, you know nothing about the Springfield team this year. 7 on 7's are just a run through for the QB's and WR's to get some timing down and polish up their routes. Oh, and one other thing, Springfield only had 2 Seniors play in that scrimmage, the QB and a DB. There were 2 other starting Seniors on vacation.
