For the math challenged on Yappi that's a death rate of less then 0.001%. And it's probably lower then that given that a lot more then 214,000 college students have become infected with covid.

So this all of a sudden it is big news and a lie because Trump repeated it? This has been reported weeks ago and if you look at the facts it has been proven to be true. People that have died in car accidents that have been tested and show to have the virus have been reported to have died from the virus.

What are you talking about? You don't need to run a 2nd clinical study before you publish the results of the first one. In the discussion and conclusions part of a scientific paper is where you point out that the results presented in this paper need to be replicated. You would know this if you had actually ever wrote a scientific paper.

Hell I doubt you can even read a scientific paper with any level of understanding.

BTW IF this paper shows that masking had little effect on covid transmission then it would be consistent with the accumulated evidence of mask wearings effectiveness against flu transmission. That alone is a powerful confirmation of the studies reliability.

And do you believe that there would be any hesitation to publish this study in the leading journals if the authors had found that masking reduces covid spread? That's the point and the concern. You don't make decisions to publish a study based on whether it matches political & bureaucratic convention. That's how Soviet science worked.

I wonder how long will it be after the vaccine is out and the virus is gone before we get the truth from the scientists that Biden says he will listen and follow about whether masks worked or not. I am betting on years and maybe never.
