What is the worst record of a team to ever win an OHSAA Boys Basketball state title?

17-12 Willoughby Cornerstone Christian in 2016. But that's a seriously misleading record.

Youngstown Ursuline was 10-10 entering the playoffs in 1994 when they then won the D3 title over Lima Central Catholic who was number 1 that year

We do not according to OHSAA site. Doesn’t show records for winners before a certain year.

One of their titles in the 70’s they were undefeated and beat Barberton. Other title team did have a handful of losses.

I’m going to just say 2005 Africentric since they were originally awarded the title but then had all the wins taken away to go 0-28.

The 2004-05 Linden team lost in the State Semi and was 11-15. If they had somehow slipped past Triway and Upper Sandusky they would have been State Champ with a losing record.

Springfield in 1950 won the Class AA state title after finishing last in the Greater Ohio League. The Wildcats ended up 19-7.

Five of Jefferson's losses were by forfeit.

Ursuline was a legit 10-10 to finish the regular season and beat undefeated Lima Central Catholic in the finals. JR Raber in '92 and Larry Senvisky in '94 did LCC in.

No one was slipping past that Upper Rams team.

Not a Champ, but rather Runner-up, 1985 Mansfield Senior TYgers entered Tournament, 13-7. Finished 20-8.

VASJ in 1992 was 11-9 heading into sectional play. They finished by defeating Columbus St. Charles for their 2nd State Championship.
