Winton Woods v Milford

Week 3, here we go!

I’m interested to see how this game goes. WW has an outstanding defense with a struggling offense. I haven’t watched Milford yet this season so if you have some insight, I would love to know.

With Milford playing Edgewood and Walnut Hills the first two games, it is hard for me to gauge how good they are. I am gonna assume they are just as strong and solid as last year, so im ready to see an exciting game!

If you look at the stats the teams are pretty much even through 2 weeks. (But WW seems to struggle with entering the stats).
I cannot believe Kings held Winton Woods to under 80 yards total offence in the loss 24 rushing yards.
Milford has an edge on O in Yards per game, Rushing, Passing and PPG.
Defence at this point is a draw
WW edge on Kick/Punt returns but Milford an edge in the kicking game PAT/FG.

I see a low scoring contest and winton woods gets the W if Milford turns it over like Kings did. If Milford can hold onto the ball Milford in a close one 13-9.

No offensive to Milford, but we’ll find out about how good they are. There first two games vs WW first two games I believe favor WW.

WW needs to work on special teams play and offensive movement.

Should be an interesting game.

Winton Woods defense is outstanding. O line struggles in run and pass blocking. I will say their receivers were getting open, but balls either weren’t getting there, or when they were, there was some drops. Defense should win this game. Schedule sets up nicely for them not having Anderson til week 9. Offense has plenty of time to improve.

Did Kings actually hold WW to under 100 yards total O and under 30 Rushing? I think WW reported the stats wrong from that game.

I watched it in person and I would’ve guessed Kings easily doubled them up in yardage. Can’t say for certain cause I didn’t keep stats, but I’d say those numbers are accurate.

Just curious on why you think the first two weeks of the season favors WW?
If we were looking at W-L its a draw. 2-0
Points scored favors Milford by alot, Yards per game and Yards given up favors Milford.
Opponets 1-1 for both. Edgewood and Springfield have fallen way off (almost colerain bad).

I think WW at home will win if they can get turnovers like they did vs kings. If not....Could open the door for a Milford W...

Wow, WW with 24 yards rushing in that game and no first downs if the stats are correct.

I just think us playing Springfield and Kings to start the season is stronger teams than Walnut Hills and Edgewood.

Milford is a good team no doubt and should be a really good game.

If WW ever finds a way to move the ball offensively, they’ll be tough to handle, especially with the defense they have.

WW - 15
Milford - 0

After a Milford penalty, WW took the chance to go for 2 and converted. So far, WW of course full of penalties but defense is looking stout, offense not looking bad. Milford can’t seem to get a whole bunch going on offense, and the defense is alright.
 
There was a long stretch at the end of the third quarter and over half of the fourth quarter where the ball just seemed to live between the WW 1 and 15 yard line. I don't know if I'm more impressed by both teams' defenses or more disappointed by neither team's kicking the ball nor gaining 10 yards.
Winton Woods defense is legit this year. Hopefully their offense catches up.
 
WW continues to struggle with their special teams, especially the punting dept. why is the punter soooooo far back from the snapper?
Note: that fake punt from inside your own red zone was 😂. Reminded me of Coach Parker days 👀

Our penalties will eventually catch up with us sooner or later. 3 touchdowns called back is unacceptable.

Our guys were able to catch the ball tonight

QB played and threw the ball with confidence, the coaching staff put him in good situations with the early short passes , that seemed to loosen things up.

WW had a really nice blend of passing and rushing tonight.

And of course thank you Defense

WW found that way last night vs. a pretty good D. Good ballance of rush and pass. Take away a couple penalties and they may have put up even better numbers.
 
I’m sorry….but anyone that seriously thought that Milford was going to win that game, should second guess their ability to understand football teams. I am a fan of Milford, my dad has the record for the longest touchdown ( end zone, to end zone) there, but let’s step into reality. Despite their record last year they proved who they were in the playoffs. An easy schedule is just that. At one point there were rankings that placed them above Moeller who consistently plays some of the toughest schedules in the state. WW has amassed a VERY good, very well coached team, and despite the hype Milford isn’t in that league yet….period. I wish they were though. Nothing hurts a team more than resting on artificial hyped laurels, and last year proved that.

WW and Anderson are the teams to beat in the ECC no doubt.
Milford and Kings are also in the mix at the top in the ECC. (Heck Milford shut out WW last year and Kings plays WW tough every contest with a couple wins since WW joind the ECC one in the playoffs).
No doubt WW if they can generate offence can compete with anyone. The week 9 game will decide the ECC.
Any HS team that loses their best player especially the QB is in trouble come playoff time like what happened to Milford last year. I like most thought WW would go deeper than 1-1 in the loss to Withrow last year but the lack of offence did them in.
