Previously mentioned in another thread: Dawn Wells (age 82) as Mary Ann - TV 'Gilligan's Island'

---------

Phyllis McGuire DOD 12/30 (age 89); the last surviving member of the singing trio (The McGuire Sisters)

songs "Sincerely" and "Sugartime" : both number-one hits

The Robert Altman film Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean (1982) prominently features the music of The McGuire Sisters. Their number one single, "Sincerely", is lip-synced by the film's stars Cher, Karen Black and Sandy Dennis as "The Disciples of James Dean."

I watched The Adventures of Robin Hood the day after I heard of her passing and in her honor. I still need to re-watch Gone With the Wind. I have been checking on her continued life a couple times a year since she hit 100. Certainly one of the last and certainly one of the most prominent stars of the "Golden Age of Film".

These ladies were born in Middletown, OH and spent most of their childhood in Miamisburg. The local paper did a big feature on them a couple of years ago when one of the other sisters passed.
