I just want to say that Sinister 2 is still the scariest movie I’ve ever seen and it’s an absolute shame they aren’t making a third one 🤬🤬.

Chariots of Fire (1981) - Everyone knows part of the score and the iconic running scene. I finally sat down to watch it. It is a good film, beautifully filmed and scored. To be honest, all the aristocratic Anglo-Saxon types kind of ran together so that I was a bit confused at times who was who. That and, even though I was captain of my high school track team, I found much of the training scenes in the middle of the film somewhat boring.

5/8

M3GAN (2022)

Horror: Wasn't sure what I was going to think about it. Luckily I got to watch the unrated version so there was some more blood. I had lot of issues with it but it was entertaining. Did not like the ending at all.... seemed too "Hollywood" ....3.5/8

Occhiali neri (Italy-2022)

Giallo Horror: It's Argento!!! OK, well.... it didn't really have the feel of his film. Here we have an accident that leaves a prostitute blind and even more unfortunate for her there is someone who has targeted her for the next bloody kill. I have to laugh at the few sentences on IMDB that supposedly describes this movie. It is wrong and actually the opposite of what is happening. I'll go ahead and post it here: "Diana, a young woman who lost her sight, finds a guide in a Chinese boy named Chin. Together they will track down a dangerous killer through the darkness of Italy." Chin is not a guide he is a runaway who she has sheltered out of guilt. They are NOT hunting down the killer they are in fact trying to get as far away from the killer as possible. The killer is hunting them...... There is not one instant where they even try to figure out who the killer is or anything like that. This was a weak Giallo which is shocking coming from Argento. It misses just about everything that makes a Giallo great..... 3.0/8

Hunger Games: Mockingjay1. Story maybe not put together as well as it should have been. Some great acting. One scene saw four of my favorite minor charactors from other shows, Margaery Terrell (GOT), Foggy Nelson (Daredevil) and Amos Burton (Expanse). Fourth being Diana Ross' kid.

Amistad: another great set of actors. I love this line from McGonaughy to Skarsgard's (abolisionist) insistence this is a case of God and humanity, not property, "But Christ lost,... in order to do better than the attorney that represented the son of God I will require two and a half dollars a day." All with a mouth full of food.

Achoura (Morocco-2018)

Horror: 4 Childhood friends who experienced a traumatic event together must once again come together as adults to battle the "monster". This was similar in ways to IT but other than the premise was nothing like it. This one had it's moments as well as problems.... 4.0/8

Women Talking (December 2022)

A fictional account of a contemporary Mennonite community in which the men have been sexually assaulting the women…and the women have had enough and decide what to do. Serious cast…Frances McDormand, Claire Foy, Rooney Mara. Pretty good movie, though not light-hearted fare.

A warning…don’t recommend to a wife who leans in the direction of man-hating. On the other hand, you could get credit for being evolved.

Yôkai hyaku monogatari (Japan-1968)

Horror: Locals hold a 100 Monsters ritual that leads to Yokai seeking revenge on a greedy land owner. Kind of silly at times ... 3.0/8

Creed 3: 5.5/8

Pretty good but probably my least favorite of the 3, I’m not sure. I haven’t seen 1 in awhile. 2 is my favorite.

it was one of the few times I could tell I was watching a movie from a first time director. Just little things here and there that didn’t quite work and made the movie unrealistic.

The Jungle Book (2016) This is the "live action" remake (even though besides the main actor, it's almost entirely CG). Of these remakes, this is easily the best I've seen. Unlike many of them, this is not a shot for shot remake. It hits many of the same beats the 60s version has, but does so much different and new that it's really an independent story. Voice acting credits from Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita N'yongo, Giancarlo Esposito, and...Christopher Walken. Yeah, that's Walken as King Louie and he sings and it's delightful. 6.5/8

Creed 3: 5.5/8

i have not seen any of the Creed movies, in the past movies did Carl weathers or Stallone make a appearance in thos movies

Broker of Death (Thailand-2021)

Horror: Manop is a single father with a daughter who needs surgery that he cannot afford. He also has a gambling problem which causes him to get desperate for money. When he agrees to transport and store a stolen corpse for a sick ritual an angry spirit emerges. This one was actually pretty good... 5.5/8

Creed III (2023) 5/8 I liked it, but I like all of the Rocky franchise so that's not a surprise. It was a little off in some areas and one scene towards the end didn't work for me at all. I'll be anxiously waiting for the next one.

M3GAN: Unrated (2022) 4/8 I didn't think it was too bad, enough blood and gore to overcome the idea of a low-end little girl version of the Terminator causing havoc in a quiet neighborhood.

Honeydew (2020)

Horror: A couple gets lost in the boonies and take refuge at an old farmer ladies home. This was one of those that I could not wait for it to end. Numerous checks to see how much longer I had to suffer. Once the oddity wears off it was just way overly annoying for any appreciation.... 2.0/8

The Reef: Stalked (2022) 1.5/8 Four Australian ladies going on a kayaking/diving trip to honor a friend who was recently murdered by her boyfriend. A very large great white starts to stalk them for no real reason. Not much to talk about. A shark movie that only 2 people die in and one was killed by her boyfriend.

Murder at Yellowstone City (2022) ... 2.0/8

western: This one didn't look right, did not sound right and nothing about it seemed right. It was boring and I am going to rant..... we are in 1883 or around there and for some reason and we all know the reason there was a scene with two guys in it that had nothing to do what so ever with the plot ..........

Enough is enough. We do not need a guy on guy gay scene that has nothing to do with the plot in a western set in the 1800's. This woke crap is causing more division and more hatred directed toward the gay community because of these type of grooming nonsense scenes....

I am an opened minded person but what is going on in these newer movies is actually closed minded. I have seen the Gay Dead and Breakfast horror movie and there was plenty of guy on guy stuff. Does not bother me. Saw Queer as Folk, does not bother me. The newest American Horror Story about a gay community... does not bother me. Even seen gay porn.... does not bother me. What does bother me is forced guy on guy scenes just to have it in there to check off a box that has nothing to do with anything. This has to stop.

I have a friend whose father fought on Guadalcanal in WWII. He told the story to my buddy that there two gay guys who were put in the same tent during that battle. He referred to them as "the two happiest guys on Guadalcanal".

I mention that because...well, you don't think there were homosexuals out West in the 19th century? I would have to see the movie to conclude for myself if I thought it was gratuitous.

And, fwiw, I HAVE NOT watched gay porn. Hmmm...

Die Hart: 4.5/8

Sort of like the Truman Show in a way. Kevin Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself, and he wants to become an action star. A potential director sends him to an "action star school" to learn how to be an action hero, but it's really a setup. The director is secretly filming everything Truman Story style to cut together into a movie with the start giving a "real, authentic, performance".

Not bad for what it was.
