Mulgoe (South Korea-2018)

Fantasy/Horror: Two goofy brothers are called by the King to find and destroy a monster. Could not get into it.... 2.5/8

Coherence (2013)

Drama/Horror: A dinner party with 8 friends turns terribly strange when a Comet passes close by. This is one where you just need to turn off your brain and go for a ride.... otherwise you will be hurting really bad by movies end.... 5.0/8

Madhouse (Italy-1981)

Horror: Twin sisters and an upcoming birthday. What can go wrong? Oh yeah.... one of the sisters is a psychopath and had just escaped from the loony bin! ... 5.0/8

31 (UK-2016)

Horror: Rob Zombie film..... well, it is Halloween and 5 carnival workers get kidnapped while heading to their next site and forced to play a deadly game where they must survive for 12 hours while being hunted by sadistic clowns. Sounds pretty sweet right, not. This was by far the worse Rob Zombie film I have seen. Just did not care for much of it and thought most of it was just plain stupid..... 1.5/8

The Alchemist Cookbook (2016)

Horror: A man living off of the grid searches for answers by dabbling with Alchemy/Magic. There is really only 2 guys in this movie and takes place basically in one place but it just does not get boring. This one gets a bit creepy but probably is not for most..... 5.5/8

Viy (Soviet Union-1967)

Horror: Soviet Union? Yep, this might be a first for me. Seen Russian horror but is that the same???? Anyhow.... we have some guys who have either just became priests or learning to be. While looking for refuge one of them has an encounter with a witch. This one has some incredible scenes for its time that I will never forget.... 4.5/8

36.15 Code Père Noël (France-1989)

Horror: The movie Home Alone ripped off? "Dial Code Santa Clause" came out prior to "Home Alone" and yet the two are very similar but this one is way more sinister. Thomas is a young boy who is very smart but still believes in Santa Clause. Well, his mum has to stay late at work and Thomas stays up all excited to get a glance of Santa even though he was warned that if Santa see's you he will get pissed and turn into a Ogre! Unlike Home Alone this one has a body count!!!!! ....... 5.5/8

The Midnight Man (2016)

Horror: A girl caring for her grandma discovers a game in the attic that summons The Midnight Man. This one actually wasn't too bad... 5.0/8

Blood Rage (1987)

Horror: Originally known as "Slasher" this one was right up my ally in the great 80's style and cheese!!!! A boy pins a murder on his twin and several years later the killings start back up again. I loved this one ... 6.5/8

The Way Back (2020) 6/8 Starring Ben Affleck as a former high school basketball star, who is now an alcoholic dealing with a ton of issues. He is given the opportunity to coach at his former high school when the current coach has a heart attack. I'm surprises that more people didn't like this movie. I thought it was very good. It's less of a sports movie and more of a movie with sports in it.

Fantasy Island (2020) 3/8 A more sinister play off of the old TV show. A small group wins an opportunity to spend a VIP weekend on Fantasy Island. Only after things get rolling do they realize things aren't as great as they seem. All in all, it was kind of goofy.

To those that know...

Are comedy movies a thing of the past? Anything good coming out soon? I'm a Caddyshack to Step Brothers genra type of guy.

Just watched something called "Carter and June" about con artists. Did not feature one person I had ever heard of, but it was fairly entertaining. 5/8

The Devil's Doorway (Ireland-2018)

Horror: 1960's Ireland.... a miracle has occurred at a home run by nuns. Vatican sends a couple of Fathers to investigate only to discover something sinister instead.... 4.5/8

Haunt (US-2019)

Horror: Halloween night and the kiddies are out driving around looking for an extreme haunted house. Well, they find what they were looking for and some. I thought this was going to be a lot better.... started out promising but then drizzled into a cliche.... 4.0/8

Sex Kittens Go to College (1960) - Wow, bad in a really good way. I crushed on Tuesday Weld. There were quite a few familiar faces, including John Carradine, Jackie Coogan (later Uncle Fester) and a musical number by Conway Twitty back when he was considered a rock-a- billy star.

4/8

D-Day the Sixth of June (1956)
- False advertising! Fifteen minutes of D-Day and an hour and a quarter of soap opera,

4/8

The Lodge (UK-2019)

Horror: Strange and frightening events take place at a remote cabin as a woman is snowed in with her fiance's two children.... 5.0/8

Dead Kids (Australia-1981)

Horror: "Strange Behavior" ... Murders plague a small town as strange things occur.... 3.0/8

Un couteau dans le coeur (France-2018)

Horror/Giallo: Somebody is killing off the cast of a gay porn film. OK, this one is not for everyone as it has a lot of guy on guy so if you are uncomfortable with that stuff stay away.... OK, for those who are still left the killer in this one is great, really creepy in a strange way. I do not believe I have ever seen a French Giallo film but this one was not that bad.... 4.5/8

Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

Horror: Babysitters friend releases Annabelle in order to try and communicate with her dead father in the home of the Warrens. The timeline in this film did not make sense as some of the artifacts that the Warrens kept in their room should not have been there since this movie took place before those events that would of brought those artifacts to them. Also, the Warrens never had a babysitter they had a live in nanny???? OK, so we lose consistency here for a story..... For this series the story was lacking and Annabelle came across as very weak.... still though I love the Conjuring Universe so I was able to get enough out of this one to keep me wanting more.... 4.0/8

Twister (1996) 6/8 One of my favorite disaster movies. Really good cast, great special effects especially for the time.

Beverly Hill Cop II (1987) 4/8 Not as good as the original, but not a terrible sequel. Foley returns to Beverly Hills when one of the officers he befriended from the original is gunned down. Bridgette Nielsen was always fun to look at on screen in the 80's so that helped the film a bit too.

Batman Begins (2005) 4.5/8 The beginning to the Dark Night/Christopher Nolan directed Batman movies. One of the few times where the sequels are better than the original. I think the last 30 minutes or so of this one is really good, but it is slow getting to that point. The beginning was important to the story, but they maybe dragged it out a little too much.

Phantasm (1979) ... 6.0/8

This is about the 4th time seeing this classic. Low budget and cheesy but always hits the mark!

Rocketman - Really captures Elton John as a complex and very talented individual. I was a big fan of his after Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Came out in 1973 and followed him closely through all of the events depicted in the film.

6/8

Midsommar
- I like a weirdass film from time to time and this is every bit of that. I have now committed to never wearing all white, never doing "jazz hands", never dancing outside and never, I mean never, drink anything that some nordic old woman gives me.

5/8
