Fastest mile on an outdoor track. not 1500 or 1600. For women. Any level…HS or college or pro…whichever is fastest ever on our soil. Although if someone knows 1600 fastest, that may be helpful.
Let me do some pondering and research. Gotta be a meet of some significance like at OSU or one of distance meets during the summer.Javman, any idea?

FWIW, the OP is asking about results produced on an outdoor track. Can anyone find anything faster than this?
4:33.78 (i) - Olivia Howell (Solon - Univ. Illinois) - 1st - Big 10 Indoor Champs - Geneva, OH - 26 Feb 2022
Leah O’Connor (Michigan State) has the All-Time Ohio “indoor” soil record at 4:32.71 set at Spire at the 2015 Big Ten Indoor Championships. And for an outdoor certified road mile, Josette Norris ran 4:19.66 at last year’s Guardian Mile in Cleveland over the Hope Memorial Bridge. Can anyone find anything faster than this?

I thought "our soil" meant USA. Sorry about that. ROTFLMAO!He requested "on Ohio soil", not Ohioans competing in Michigan.
I may be able to help with that list. I have been working on a top 10 list for track and field events from Northwest Ohio athletes. I am sure a lot of their results will end up on here. I have found this rabbit hole to be rather tricky because you don't know who or where an athlete went to college and a lot of colleges do not keep good track and field record books.I've started the "All-Ohio" file with the goal of:
1) Best performance by an Ohio-based athlete (resident of Ohio at time of performance) ANYWHERE - no age restrictions.
2) Best performance on Ohio soil, by any athlete. What T&F News calls an "all-comers" record on Ohio soil.
3) Indoor and outdoor marks considered separately (my disagreement with World Athletics indoor/outdoor equivalence).
4) Olympic & World Championships medalists.
Anyone think of any other criteria?
My 1st additions to the guy's side are: Butch Reynolds' 43.29 WR at Zurich in 1988, and Clayton Murphy's 1:42.93 in 2016. Also, David Payne's 13.02 110mH from 2007, and Erik Kynard's 7' 9 1/4" (2.37m) from 2013.
Thank you. Any help would be appreciated. If you give me names, there's a decent chance I can track down where they went to school if it happened in the last 40 years, IF they were a big enough name. A top-10 list for that big an area is a challenge in itself.I may be able to help with that list. I have been working on a top 10 list for track and field events from Northwest Ohio athletes.
