"My Life With Earth, Wind, & Fire" - by Maurice White (with Herb Powell)

This book should go hand in hand with Booker T. Jones' "Time Is Tight" autobiography - in fact White and Jones knew each other in high school in Memphis. White recounts his specific vision for what became Earth, Wind, & Fire, and the sacrifices he made mentally and physically to get there. A fascinating look at the music and recording business from the late 1950's thru the late 1980's.
 
Following a theme here, just finished another musical autobiography:

"Do You Feel Like I Do? A Memoir" - by Peter Frampton (with Alan Light)

Frampton always did have the persona of the shy, earnest, and likeable Boy Next Door, and seems to have actually lived it. The overall theme is that he always happened to meet the right people, in the right place, at the right time, from a very young age. The fact that his father was a very popular high school art teacher who had David Bowie as a student (who mentored the younger Frampton), and that Frampton was playing recording sessions for John Lennon at the age of 15 didn't hurt his career one bit.

"The Void Protocol" - by F. Paul Wilson

As I'm in the middle of re-reading the Repairman Jack series in order, I came across this one that dovetails nicely with the stuff Jack must deal with. I don't know how Wilson keeps up with all of the characters and timelines.

I had never heard of Wilson. I looked him up and his Repairman Jack series sounds like a series I like which is the Burke series by Andrew Vachss. There are currently 18 books in that series with Flood being the first. I'm going to try out F. Paul Wilson.

I would recommend The Keep first, to explain the main conflict overall. "Conspiracies" is the first Repairman Jack novel I read - just picked up at random while browsing at the library almost 20 years ago, and got me interested in Wilson's work. "The Haunted Air" is also a good earlier RJ story.

50. Andrew Welsh-Huggins---Capitol Punishment
 
Profiles in Courage by JFK: Interesting read from Kennedy. This book is filled with stories about members of the Senate who acted against popular beliefs for the greater good.

The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane: I was pretty bored this time around. Really liked it the first time I read it.

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson: Loved this as a kid and enjoyed it very much as an adult.

The Outsiders by SE Hinton: One of my all time favorites.

The War of the Worlds by HG Wells: See above.

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King: Great movie and great short story as well!

The Body by Stephen King: See above.

Apt Pupil by Stephen King: One of the more disturbing stories I’ve read. The main character in this story (Todd Bowden) is one messed up kid.

"Right Place, Right Time: The Life of a Rock & Roll Photographer" - by Bob Gruen (with Dave Thompson)

Bob Gruen was a name I remember seeing often in photo credits in rock magazines of the 1970's and 1980's. Surprisingly, despite the fact he became a good friend and confidante of the likes of John Lennon, Ike & Tina Turner, and The Clash, he never really made any money beyond month-to-month expenses until he was in his 70's. However, the experiences he had working, traveling, and even living with the stars of his time gave him wealth of a different sort.

Just finished The Keep. Don't usually read supernatural books, but this was one that kept me reading and I liked it. If the Repairman Jack series is similar, it is not in the same line as the Burke series by Andrew Vachss. Burke is a fixer but not supernatural. I'm on the waiting list at the library for the 1st RJ book, The Tomb.

Jack is more like a cross between a low-level non-military “Equalizer” and Robin Hood. His jobs are fairly mundane, but some of them end up relating to the supernatural conflict between the Ally and the Otherness. He first meets Rasalom in “Conspiracies”, the first book I read in the series. He doesn’t meet Glaeken for another 15 books, in “By The Sword”. If the series holds your interest as it did mine, it will be worth it.
