What are you watching?

The Newsroom: only because it was Jeff Daniels and Alan Sorkin did I almost make it through the first season of screeching-pretentious characters. How did he go from the grounded characters of West Wing to this?

Been bingeing old episodes of MXC on Amazon Prime. Man, what a genius show. A true they don't make 'em like this anymore.

ABC tried to recapture the formula with Wipeout, but you tell me which show you'd rather watch...

Andor: first two episodes and barely have an idea what I watched. I like the idea behind the story arc but not a single character or actor. It can't decide if it wants to be Monty Python or a some old british period piece.

Never have. Have been told by many this is a must watch. Thoughts thus far?
Starts kind of slow and doesn't have any real like "pop off" moments, but it's really great so far. Definitely not a show you can have on while you do something else/be on your phone. Characters are very developed already and I'm not even finished with season 1. Excited to see where it goes

They started to lose me at the end of last season. I figured I'd give season two a shot and stopped after the awful first episode. Heard about the last episode and would agree.
Being a fan of the 1st game and a hater of the 2nd, I knew it was coming. My only hope is they give Tommy a bigger role, bc Bella Ramsey (Ellie) can’t carry this show.

I actually like the casting of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby. The game version of this super muscular girl boss was lame. I’m glad they didn’t go that route in the show.

The Fallout show got me curious enough to try the first few games. This show, not so much. The story may be there but the casting. This is the problem with celebrity casting. It can draw a few viewers but when it doesn't deliver, it flows into those actors' other shows. Both the leads obvious to me, were benefits of very fit casting in GOT. Outside those roles.... I'm not really even looking forward to Mandalorean.

The Wire is great at pulling characters in and out of the narrative over the 5 seasons and toeing the line between someone you’re rooting for/someone you’re rooting against was captivating. And it certainly didn’t ask you to suspend disbelief as much as the later seasons of something like Ozark.

And it's a cool time capsule to 20+ years ago. Pagers? Payphones? At one point a character says something like "texting - my kids can't get enough of it."
