What are some long overdue matchups that you would like to see happen? Or some series that should be renewed?

Warren G. Harding vs. Cincinnati Elder

Not sure if the current times are capable of duplicating the hype of their miniseries from the early 2000’s, but I’d love to see the day when they at least tried to do so.

Warren G. Harding vs. Steubenville

I’d love an opportunity to “battle” their fans. 🤣 They’re actually discussing some options for the future, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

It just jumped out at me as a situation where there's two very similar schools fairly close to each other who've played a lot of common nonconference opponents recently, just never each other. There are a few others in that category like Hudson vs Aurora and Mentor vs Avon.

I was curious if there might be some "bad blood" between the two communities or administrations that could explain why they don't play (there's a couple of obvious potential matchups in Stark County like that) but it sounds like it's more a matter of open dates not lining up.

Kirtland is in a unique situation where there aren't many schools of a similar size that would challenge them in non-league play. I'm sure your AD doesn't have an easy time filling those open dates
If it was a matter of geography rather than competitiveness, then Aurora and Wadsworth ought to switch divisions.

A division of the SL into three 7 team leagues like this would make a lot of sense:

North Division
Twinsburg
Nordonia
Aurora
Kenston
Mayfield
Solon
Chardon

Central Division
Wadsworth
Hudson
Stow
Medina
North Royalton
Brecksville
Highland

South Division
Barberton
Copley
Revere
Tallmadge
Cloverleaf
Kent
Norton

According to ohhsfbdb.net, since 1972 their Best win-loss percentage was in 1985 when they went 4-5. They are a D7 school.

Their last 3 win season was 1994. They've had 3 2-win seasons since 2005.

Since 2011, their record is 10-125.

VanlueVsTheWorld is a troll who has emerged this offseason, claiming they'd run roughshod over Lucas, St Ed, Moe, Mass, Hoban, etc.

My scoring prediction of 76-0 is more a comment that high school kickers hit about 10 of 11 xp's than anything else. Massillon, on a good day, could put up a century in the first half, if they were so inclined.

So just referencing a running joke from a troll, Pastomi, not a real prediction. Hence the wink at the end of my comments about them. ;)
I'm not a troll, I just know ball.🎅

Coventry vs. Akron Garfield. Schools are around 12 minutes away from each other. They scrimmage each other every year but I would like to see them play in the regular season again like they did back from 2017-2019

Probably be a dope game

Coldwater vs Celina: Separated by 8 miles but haven't played since 1991. 26-17-1 in favor of Celina.

Fort Recovery vs Jay County (IN): This is Forts rival and they've only played once to my knowledge. Should be a yearly game regardless of records. Going to speak it into existence @IndianaBanana. 1-0 Fort Recovery in the series

Anna vs Fort Loramie: This one happens for the first time this year!!

Bluffton vs Bluffton (IN): Why not lol
What’s keeping Celina and Coldwater from playing? Seems like a perfect local rivalry

Steubenville vs Ironton two river Rats with storied histories, 2 former industrial towns. The demographics of Ironton and Steubenville are nearly identical. The only con is the distance between them.

I’d love to see Harding and Big Red play yearly. Maybe these couple scrimmages will be a springboard to a yearly series.

With Ironton being independent now I hope the 2 can come together and play soon as they both can ease up finding a late season game

WW VS Princeton should happen but with only one out of league game in the GMC and ECC most like to schedule out of area decent teams or GCL. Makes no sense with the expanded playoffs bring back some rivalries. Colerain vs Northwest would be a good inter district match up now that Colerain has fallen off the track. The GCL week one games are a thing of the past for Colerain until they can get competitive.
Actually with expanded play-offs, it makes perfect sense to bring it back. The threshold to get in the playoffs are really low now, so you can drop a game to a good opponent and not have to worry about being locked out. Western Hills made it a few times only winning one game.😂

Conneaut to South Point is probably as far apart as you can get in Ohio.
I admit I find this hilarious partly because my wife is from Conneaut. The problems that program has had trying to remain in a league and basically fit in with anyone because most everyone in either northeast Ohio or northwest Pennsylvania considers it inconvenient to play them are many. Inconvenient not in terms of the competition, but no one wanting to drive there because it's "too far." Or so I have been told by my in-laws who have lived there all their lives.

And try to get coverage from any broadcast outlet, when they will cover tornadoes 150 miles away. Scheduling teams was a personal concern when the Spartans were a strong basketball program in the early 1990s.

The two High schools within 1-2 miles of the McNicholas campus—-Turpin and Anderson. In the most recent series mid to late 2010s Anderson and McNick split 2-2. Turpin is back on the schedule in 2025.. McNick played them evenly in the same timeframe. Anderson is greatly improved since they last played (as is McNick) their coach is a McNick alum.
