I like all of the ones you listed however I Don't think we had a series before with X or Elder. I remember playing Elder in a classic in Cincinnati and X in the championship but that's it. I could be wrong though I may be getting forgetful in my older age lol

The Tigers had series with Elder, in 1951-52 and 1955-56. Yes, the Tigers played Elder in a Cincy classic in 2005. Massillon is 5-0 versus the Panthers.

Figured if they had a series it was before my time lol. Nice to have that record over such a good program.

I never heard of Van
I never heard of Vanlue. Is that a real school or is someone just kidding around?
According to ohhsfbdb.net, since 1972 their Best win-loss percentage was in 1985 when they went 4-5. They are a D7 school.

Their last 3 win season was 1994. They've had 3 2-win seasons since 2005.

Since 2011, their record is 10-125.

VanlueVsTheWorld is a troll who has emerged this offseason, claiming they'd run roughshod over Lucas, St Ed, Moe, Mass, Hoban, etc.

My scoring prediction of 76-0 is more a comment that high school kickers hit about 10 of 11 xp's than anything else. Massillon, on a good day, could put up a century in the first half, if they were so inclined.

So just referencing a running joke from a troll, Pastomi, not a real prediction. Hence the wink at the end of my comments about them. ;)

Gotcha, I thought as much. I am 68 years old. I was wondering did I miss something?

Hopefully down the line, Kenston and Chagrin Falls end up renewing their series. They stopped playing after this past season.

I don't know when the last time Kenston and West Geauga played in football, but surprised they haven't played yearly or semi-yearly. Additionally, when was the least time Chagrin Falls and Solon played each other in football? I know that likely won't happen until either Solon's population decreases or Chagrin Falls' increases, but maybe they played each other back in the day?

Also would like to see some combo of the following:
Gilmour Academy/Chagrin Falls
University School/Chagrin Falls
Gilmour Academy/West Geauga
Solon/West Geauga
US/West Geauga
Mayfield/West Geauga
Mayfield/Gilmour Academy

Hilltoppers were members of the ESC in the early 80s. The last time Kirtland & Chardon faced off in football was then (1982, I believe).
Isn't it a bit odd that two nearby schools who each have multiple state titles over the last decade haven't played one another? Is there any particular reason why besides the size difference?

I figure it would be an easy sell-out crowd, and with qualifying for the playoffs being a foregone conclusion thanks to the extra round, there's no good reason not to get it on the schedule even for just a single year. Chardon, I know is traveling more than an hour to face Jackson this fall, surely playing the Hornets would be preferable for them.

With Chardon now joining Kirtland in the CVC (in different divisions), I am guessing it’s a matter of when & not if the two schools square off on the gridiron in the future. I would love to see it!

It just jumped out at me as a situation where there's two very similar schools fairly close to each other who've played a lot of common nonconference opponents recently, just never each other. There are a few others in that category like Hudson vs Aurora and Mentor vs Avon.

I was curious if there might be some "bad blood" between the two communities or administrations that could explain why they don't play (there's a couple of obvious potential matchups in Stark County like that) but it sounds like it's more a matter of open dates not lining up.

Kirtland is in a unique situation where there aren't many schools of a similar size that would challenge them in non-league play. I'm sure your AD doesn't have an easy time filling those open dates

Columbiana Clippers and Crestview Rebels
They played each other from 1954 until 2016 when the ITCL broke up. The two schools are just 4.4 miles apart from each other.

Mogadore vs Mogadore Field is off the schedule once again. Unbelievable. Two schools 4 miles apart, share same postal address, have been rivals since before Suffield Twp high school consolidated with Brimfield Twp to form Field. Always a packed stadium and I'm assuming biggest gate for either school. Too bad once again it has been interrupted. Unfortunately many now no longer consider it a main rivalry. This happens when schools stop meeting on yearly basis.

No worries. You always have reasonable takes and insights on things. I try to mostly go that route, but if you ever see a wink on one of my posts, know that most, if not all, bets are off on that . :)

Like to see a series of
Canfield vs South Range
Canfield vs Mooney
Canfield vs Ursuline
Fitch playing Massillon again
Boardman vs McKinley Canton
Louisville vs West Branch again
