Game of the week: This one is tough. There are two games between 2-2 teams, I’ll go with Defiance/Shawnee as Defiance was expected to contend for the title and Shawnee was an early surprise, although the last two weeks haven’t been kind to Shawnee. I’m struggling to see a close game here though, and maybe that one will be – perhaps O-G/St. Marys could be somewhat close, between two teams that I don’t think want to throw it. We’re to the halfway point of the season after this week, and while the records might still be a little congested, perhaps perceptions have sorted themselves out a bit and it could be easier to predict winners going forward...we will see.
Last week was certainly the easiest week so far. We finally had a perfect record as 10 out of 21 people didn’t miss any games, and only three others didn’t go 4-1, with just one 2-3 record. Special recognition to Dawgs4life – the only person to predict scores and being pretty close to accurate on all of them, really. Celina was the only unanimous pick, with two people each picking St. Marys over Wapak and Elida over O-G. Four people picked Kenton over Bath, and in the closest predictions of the week, six people had Van Wert over Defiance. But the favorites won every game, with only Bath/Kenton really being close.
PantherSkin retains a 3-game lead, this time over two people instead of three, and one more person didn’t make picks, so we’re down to only 16 people that have done it each week so far.
