(1-0) Van Wert at Celina (0-1)
(0-1) Bath at Shawnee (0-1)
(1-0) St. Marys at Defiance (1-0)
(1-0) Elida at Kenton (0-1)
(0-1) O-G at Wapak (0-1)
Game of the week: Well, only one game is between teams with winning records this week. Many people might be more interested in O-G/Wapak, as both played playoff veteran teams last week, but I'm not sure if anyone had more graduation losses than O-G from last year. I still wouldn't be surprised if it was more competitive than SM/Defiance.
Last week was a very easy week. For the first time since 2013 there was a perfect Week 1 record of 10-0, as both Cavman96 and jonmoxon were flawless. In a Week 1 that had the most entries (26) since 2015 (33), 12 people also only missed one game. I should also note that CougarDad52 would've been 10-0 if not for picking a huge upset win of Celina over defending state champ Versailles. Several others went 8-2 or 7-3, with just one person, snoopdog3, finishing only 6-4. There have been plenty of years when I can remember a number of 6-4 and even 5-5/4-6 records. Defending contest champion NoHomer10 definitely had the most picks from the norm, picking just one WBL team - Van Wert - to win. Let me also say this has to be the only prediction contest ever, with 2 people with 3-digit numbers in their names that start with 93. By the way let me know if I screwed up your record.
The consensus went 9-1, with Defiance being the only loss in the selections. I'm maybe a little surprised that only 7 people picked O-G, as good as the Titans have been recently, even with major losses from last year. There were 4 unanimous picks - Bath, Kenton, and Wapak to lose, and Van Wert to win. Two or three people went out on a limb to take Celina to win, Elida to lose, and St. Marys to lose. There were no games that were almost even, maybe Shawnee, but that pick, along with Defiance and O-G, were the only matchups without a huge favorite.
