Week 5: Ashtabula Edgewood (1-3) at Poland Seminary (4-0)

The Captain believes in the concept of On Any Given Friday, but this Week 5 matchup was marked before the season as the one of the lesser capable opponents that Poland was to face this year and nothing has seemed to change that. A hallmark of Mark Brungard coached team is that his Poland squads almost always seem to take care of business against the teams that they are supposed to beat, so here's hoping that trend continues and that both teams play an injury free game. Regardless of the Warriors record coming in, there's a reason they play the games, so don't take them for granted and continue on what is early on, a very nice season for the AP #4 ranked Division III team in the State of Ohio. Edgewood played Jefferson very tough in a 21-19 loss and the Warriors are coming off their first win of the year over Newton Falls, so they have some feel good momentum. GO DOGS!!!

Cap, Agree that this is not the toughest game on the schedule, but we cannot overlook any team. The DOGS need to work on execution. We cannot have bad snaps and deep completions against Edgewood or any team left on the schedule.

My apologies...Poland is now the #3 ranked team in DIII in Ohio! ;)
