The Bombers (2-0) home opener vs. the Walnut Hills Eagles (1-1) is this Friday at 7pm
The game was initially scheduled with the Eagles Head Coach Brian Lainhart who resigned April 19th of this year amidst allegations of recruiting violations and questions regarding coaching permit status.
Lainhart was the Bombers cornerbacks coach in 2015.
Last season the Eagles went 4-6 in what would be Lainhart's first and last season. They started the season 4-0 and finished 1-6 in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference

On May 19th the Eagles named assistant Gerry Beauchamp as interim head coach.
Beauchamp a former recruiter for the UC Bearcat football team was offensive coordinator at LaSalle the previous 3 years.
In it’s first season in Division 1 Beauchamp has guided the Eagles to a 1-1 record.
The team lost it’s opener to Lakota East 24-21 but bounced back in Week 2 with a 33-13 victory over the Ross Rams.

The Eagle offense is led by #6 senior QB Solomon Cummings 6’1” 179lb who threw for 874 yards passing last season
His favorite target is #2 senior Marcus Borden 5’9” 160lb who has an offer from New Mexico State
Cummings and Borden figure in the Eagle rushing attack along with #1 senior running back Rob McDonald 5’9” 155lb

The Eagle defense is led by #72 junior lineman Jowon Briggs 6’3” 275lb who has narrowed his college choice to Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan State and Notre Dame.

The team lost 3 key seniors in the offseason

Leading yard gainer RB Peyton Doughty 5’9” 185lb Senior (450 yards rushing last season) moved to Illinois

Leading WR Cecil Singleton 6’2” 185lb (offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Miami, Ohio and Toledo) transferred to Princeton

3 star offensive lineman and Kentucky signee Quinton Wilson 6'3” 302lb transferred to Turpin

Wow, their RB is slightly on the light side, isn't he? I hope he's not hurt by our guys outweighing him by 60 or more pounds.

42-0 at halftime....running clock 2nd half.
Random thoughts and observations:

Substitutions began in 2nd quarter and were full scale in the second half.
The starters got enough time to stay sharp and pad their stats before resting and ALL the backups on a 100+ roster saw the field

The contract for next year's game at Walnut Hills has a clause allowing for cancellation with a monetary cost.

The Eagles play an awful lot of guys both ways

Kreimer is the backup QB

3 sophomores WR Marshall Lang, OL Paris Johnson and RB Kellen Newman made the most of their PT in the first half
