Warren G. Harding 2024

I can't speak for Slates, but I would've done a much better job of showing "respect" to a team that punched my stingy defense in the mouth with a 90-yard TD drive n the 4th quarter. 🤷‍♂️
Gotcha. I think his point was probably more about they have to play better against a (in his opinion) really tough Lake team. But now my question is, is Lake really that good?

I was very impressed with Perry. Those kids are tough as nails and Harding got much better by playing them. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if they knocked off Canton McKinley this week.

I spoke with some Perry fans before the game and they confirmed all of the homework that I did on Coach Wakefield. His mere presence makes a huge difference.

Chaz Coleman has been offered by Illinois.

Worm you have any thoughts about Girard transfer Stephen Sims ? Is he starting on offense ? Seems like he hasn't done much at all offensively, but I'm assuming he's at least starting at safety or corner...?

Offensively, Sims hasn’t had a “breakout performance” yet (9 catches for 56 yards), but he’s been solid at safety for Harding. I expect Harding will be a lot more aggressive with the pass against Ursuline, but in any case, Sims has earned the respect of our fans with his work ethic.

To give you an idea of the intensity that he displays on defense, go to the 7:09 mark of my highlight reel from the Perry game.

Sims is a very good player. I'm sure as the season progresses and the offense evolves he will make an impact on that side of the ball.

The second installment of my 2024 Mahoning Valley NCAA Report includes an additional 21 athletes from last week to bring our current total to 64. I'll continue to add more names as I get them.

If anybody has any additional info, please let me know in the comments. Thanks in advance!

Sienna Heights. Phillip Spradley. Defensive Back
Lake Erie Tyrone Lindsey. Wide Receiver
Both from Valley Christian. Both with stats this year
Great work with following Mahoning Valley players!

In the process of prepping a midseason one now. I’ll probably drop it on Saturday.

Thanks. I’m surprised Coleman is not generating more discussion on Wildcat Lair, with UK being one of his earliest Power 5 offers. I used to read there regularly when Bowden was at UK and haven’t seen Coleman’s name mentioned there at all. You’d think a running QB from WGH would generate more interest lol.

Probably because I'm not on there, lol. Lemme go look.

I am sorry to hear about the game last night. Maybe you will learn from the game. I sure hope so.

Canton McKinley finally put everything together in a 38-7 win over Perry.

I haven't been to WGH in many years and it looks for the game clips it has been renovated. What is the bleacher situation behind the visiting team? It appears entirely empty. Is only one side now used similar to Stambaugh for high school games?

The lower deck is closed. The upper deck is open for visitors.
