Walsh Jesuit Schedule is toughest in ohio

Didn't get to finish my points:

1. The Ed's Administration requested the change, they are giving the gate to CVCA. It's that important to them.

2. I doubt seriously CVCA Wrestler's are making that big of a deal about where this dual takes place, CVCA is used to only one home match a year. They are focused on hydration testing and certifications today.

3. CVCA says no, you must come here Saturday,we want a packed gym, we have a bonding contract.
That works real well for future relationships and matches.

Please in the future, don't substitute your own opinion with that of the CVCA Wrestler's. I'm willing to bet they all understand, and are ok with this change.

I hardly call honiring a special request to move the match being soft, I think it is more like being reasonable.

These are young men, they wanted this match at home in their gym, keep telling yourself that it doesn't matter to them if that makes you feel better. If Eds wants to wrestle the best every year and CVCA is in that category they aren't going to drop them for holding them to an agreement.

This is about 2010-11 wrestling season if Eds has a problem and drops you for holding them to an agreement then thats on Eds not CVCA. Stop being such a push over. The program has earned the right to have Eds come out to their gym. Your acting like your still a small time program. I could imagine if Eds asked Walsh the same question back in the 90's.

So how do you think that would play out if CVCA tells Eds no we are having it here? My guess is Eds would say ok see you next year. You act as if its not wrestled at CVCA that it doesnt mean as much to the kids. Who do you think this dual means more to Eds or CVCA?

Damn straight. Nixing Lowell, Perry, and Moeller was lame. JJ is all about home meets, but he won't/can't travel. Look for the WV team scheduled this year to be nix'd next year. Graham's got one more (mild) year on the big stage, and then, barring transfers at the upper weights, there's nothing in the pipe.

How can that be? Is the bloom off the rose?

someones in the hatin mood. lol. you are looking down the wrong end of the pipe bud. obviously you have no clue!!!

People that make the decisions at CVCA above us wrestling posters have agreed to change the location at the request of St. Edwards if they make the finals in Football.

I don't need to reply to the small time program comment.

It is honorable to do the right thing, and in my opinion, changing the location for the right reason has already been made.

See you at the matches, glad your a CVCA fan.

I think Eds would show up and honor the agreement they made. Eds has quality people in the athletic office and program so I would almost bet they would show and if they decided not to come then I think you have a dual with Marist at least.

As far as who it means more to Eds or CVCA? probably means more to CVCA, but should mean alot to both schools, its a early season test for two top flight programs who both have a chance to either win or place in the top 2 at state in the respective divisions. Eds has a few unknown things this season and a tough match on the road would give a real indication as to how some of their younger wrestlers will do later this year. This is about CVCA thinking they are still some small unknown wrestling program who is lust lucky that Eds decided to wrestle them. Lets get past that mentality of we are just a small school and has a few good wrestlers to one that knows its a top flight program that other top flight programs want to wrestle even if its during the football playoffs. Hopefuly CVCA loses that small minded mentality soon.

Trust me I am a die hard CVCA fan and have been since 1999 and I love the school and everyone there very much, I know plenty of people in the program and they are really awesome folks but they tend to talk themselves down sometimes. I am not saying to be arrogant about anything but again CVCA has earned the right to have Eds come to their house.

My apolagies to the thread starter for hijacking your thread.

I think you guys are missing the key point here......This is a GREAT business deal for CVCA.

Ed's is giving them the gate this year and has agreed to go to CVCA the next two years. It is a sweet heart deal.

Plus it keeps a great working relationship going. Honestly Ed's more than likley didn't even have to offer the added incentives because CVCA is a standup program willing to do what is right, but so is Ed's and thus the additional incentives.

I think this really shows how classy both prgrams are. Hats off to CVCA from this Ed's fan.

I agree Republic....

I'm pretty sure the kids that wrestle for St. Edward appreciate the gesture by CVCA - it affords them the opportunity to see what could possibly be the school's first state championship in football.

There's no doubt in my mind that Coach Urbas would do the same!

It's a class move by CVCA!!!

Both CVCA and Eds are class acts. The fact that CVCA agreed to move it if needed and the fact that Eds doesn't have any problem with going to CVCA the next two years tells me that both parties involved respect each other and that is great to see in the wrestling community.

Speaking of Walsh I only seen Nick on the NWCA Scorebook...anyone know why Nate wasn't on there??

You are making WAY too much out of this. CVCA is and has been a class program as has Ed's. Would you really rather have Ed's bow out? Refreshing that an accommodation was reached that benefits both parties, maybe our elected leaders should take notice!
The dual means a lot to each school and I completely understand wanting to have it at home. If not for the exceptional circumstance, it would be. I am curious as to the "unknown things" you refer to other than having two starters out for the dual. I also don't get the "small school mentality" thing, they wrestled last year and performed well. I can say that in addition to CVCA being a class program they also have some of the nicest parents. Mike Meadows in particular is a great guy and I'm pretty sure he doesn't share your opinion of the program's self consciousness.
Looking forward to a top notch meet and good luck to all the competitors!

I agree the CVCA parents are one of the best collection of parents and fans we have had the privilege of knowing. Coach Lawrence is a very easy to get along with guy and it doesn't surprise me he is being so cooperative with Eds. Isn't that a good thing! Let it go, no pot to stir here. I especially like Mr. Meadows Midas touch with refs!! LOL! Love Ya Mike! Good luck at the Turkey Bowl Wish I could have been there!
