Walsh Jesuit 2025

I didn’t realize how many public schools were in the new D2. Walsh, Toledo St John, and Columbus St Charles are the only privates.

The pitchers are really carrying the team so far. After 8 games they’ve only given up 4 earned runs for an ERA of 0.538 with 3 shutouts.
While I haven't closely followed HS Baseball like I am this season for quite a long time, what I've seen so far is that Walsh is probably the best team in D2. But in a 1 game showdown, anything can happen. Your schedule has been kind of blah so far, but really solid wins over Iggy and Ed's. You have some tough ones coming up. Padua tonight. They're not as good as last year's team that went fairly deep into the playoffs. But they're still really solid. A nice, comfortable win there gives me a little faith. Hoban & Jackson are great competition as well. You'll learn a lot in those games. I do want to see you hang 5+ runs on a good pitcher though before I'll be convinced you are a state champion level team. With hits, not relying on walks or errors. I'm sure Padua will throw whomever their ace is tonight. Should be an interesting game. I plan to follow along on this game changer thing I just got. (I know, it isn't new, but its new to me! :))

Good luck tonight and the rest of the way!

Thanks for the well wishes!
As far as the schedule is concerned, Walsh was supposed to play Big Walnut and Centerville last weekend but the games were rained out. We would have learned a lot from those games.

It was 2 years ago that Walsh was 27-4-1 and lost to Moeller in the State Semis. Last year’s team was 16-10 but had to replace their top 2 starters, all their position players, and DH

Now that I'm getting into it, I wish there was more baseball talk on the baseball board. Overall, the discussion pretty much sucks over there.

It's basically non-existent...which is a shame. As a Walsh fan, pcbuck does a great job of keeping me updated with stats/info on past and present Warriors. I hardly ever go over to that forum.

Agree - it's not very active at all. Looks like a good one is happening. Padua was up 1-0 heading to the bottom of the 6th, but Walsh scored 4 quick runs to head to a 4-1 lead - Go Warriors!

Padua came back and won.

Sounds like a great game for a non-partisan like me (although if I had to pick one to root for, I'd choose Walsh over Padua).

I know box scores can be deceiving, but from the box score I saw on my Game Changer app, I guess the rumors I had heard about Walsh's pitching staff struggling with control were spot on. 10 walks, 3 hit by pitches and only 2 hits leading to giving up 7 runs. Looks like a couple of ill timed errors also played a role. Walsh's hitting also looked pretty rough as well - only 5 hits, all singles. I'm assuming Padua threw their best pitcher? Sullivan dominated from what the box score shows. Not sure if that is accurate or not, but it sure seems that way. If the bullpen is going to struggle, he needs to go more than 5 innings going forward.

Regardless, its baseball. You lose games once in a while that you should win. Just need to clean up the walks and barrel a few more balls and good things will happen.

Now I need a game to follow tonight. Anyone playing? I know that Tuesday and Thursdays are normal game days, but hoping a good rain out reschedule is going on tonight somewhere. I'm most interested in Walsh, the Suburban League (mainly the National side, but I like Aurora too), Iggy, Ed's and the GCC. I think the best baseball in NE Ohio is played by those teams. Might try to get out and see one in person tomorrow.

I beleive Jackson plays Hoover tonight. That would be a good one. At least on paper.

Big whoop! We hold the record for most games won in Ohio history and I'm constantly checking to see if OOS teams are forfeiting games to hold the national record! ;)
Hilarious. It’s ironic that the school you are referring to is questioning how other schools are counting wins when their own Girls Basketball coach brags about their 21-4 record despite having to forfeit 5 games for using an ineligible player.

Baseball this and baseball that and state rankings etc etc and then all of a sudden 🤐
when they lose to a school that “only cares about football” 🙄

You are certainly an intriguing poster and have enjoyed the war with JLP and Oil Filter! Think I have some of your backstory together with your kids in the program (which I hope have successful seasons!) but will you continue once they are gone? It's been fun 🍿 🍿

Nah you are wrong.

‘21 Ben Cors plays golf for Dayton. He recently was medalist at the Atlantic 10 Golf Championships, winning by 5 strokes. His win qualifies him for NCAA Regionals in 2 weeks.

Just curious, are you sold on the new baseball coach currently?......

Not yet. He’s a great guy who bleeds maroon and gold but he had a totally stacked team his first year that went 27-4-1. That team had 7 D1 signees. The next year they went 16-10 but had to replace the entire starting lineup.

We’ll know more after next year. They have some superstars in the junior class.
