Tough loss. Even worse was that the sacrifice fly was a foul ball.Sullivan 6 innings 9k's no hits, replaced for bottom of 7th and WJ lose 1-0 after a double and a sac fly. Brutal for Bowers.

Walsh is still playing.

Long wait wasnt it?! Unlike the typical early exit you're used to.
As far as All Sports are concerned our floor is much higher than their ceiling.Long wait wasnt it?! Unlike the typical early exit you're used to.
Not even close. As far as All Sports are concerned our floor is much higher than their ceiling.
Good year. Disappointed mainly with the football and baseball teams. But hell, some schools would be printing T-shirts and having parades!Just wanted to give a summary of how Walsh sports did for the school year.

Good to hear. As pcbuck pointed out in a previous post, Walsh had a very solid year. They had several teams that had the potential to win it all but unfortunately fell short. They are in good shape to make some championship runs.Walsh mopped up at the Akron/Canton High School Sports Awards on Tuesday. They had six winners, and were nominated in most every category. The next closest school might have had three winners. There was a cool article relating to Joe Thomas with Keller Moten in the Beacon as well - here is an excerpt:

Very impressive all around sports program! A lot of programs would be jealous of all of that success, you just don't read about it, only through emojis?Just wanted to give a summary of how Walsh sports did for the school year.

Walsh doesn’t have that Dynasty sports program, like St Edward Wrestling, St Xavier Swimming, Brecksville Gymnastics, Minster Girls CC, or Marion Local Football. They are very competitive at the state level in the majority of sports.Very impressive all around sports program! Ed's hasn't been able to match Walsh's success at baseball and soccer. I don't even know when they will be back competing with these two sports but the baseball program has 3 state championships. Go figure! No chance for the soccer program with Coach McGlaughlin leading St. Ignatius. If my youngest decides to play soccer, I may have to send him to my rival! Out of all the team sports, the Warriors only had a losing records in Boys Basketball and Girls Volleyball and both had new coaches.
Later this week I’ll post how Walsh did for the school year against their main rival Hoban. I think most people would be surprised with the results.
If your son continues to play soccer, have you thought about moving out of state?Ed's hasn't been able to match Walsh's success at baseball and soccer. Haha not a chance! He's still young enough to play all three and see what he enjoys the most. My gut tells me, soccer will probably fall behind basketball and baseball in a few more years so I wont have to think about him in navy blue and yellow haha!!If your son continues to play soccer, have you thought about moving out of state?![]()

I won't be surprised. I'm pretty aware. But until you beat them in playoff football, the general perception will be Hoban > Walsh.Walsh doesn’t have that Dynasty sports program, like St Edward Wrestling, St Xavier Swimming, Brecksville Gymnastics, Minster Girls CC, or Marion Local Football. I don’t really agree with you. For example, using your opinion (since Walsh was better in football) in the last 2 years Walsh sports > St Ignatius sports. As a Walsh fan, I know that’s not true.I won't be surprised. I'm pretty aware. But until you beat them in playoff football, the general perception will be Hoban > Walsh.
To the folks like us on these boards, you are right. We know. But to everyone else, no. Football drives the bus. Plus folks may remember that Hoban won state championships in baseball and basketball in the not so distant pasts. No one that isn't in the know realizes the baseball one was in a lower division.I don’t really agree with you. Dan Basch. Went to Akron U. I assume that's who you are referencing.I know this is a baseball thread until football season but I got a question did I don't know his name he was big like Mike Alstott Buchtel couldn't stop him in playoffs game I think 97 if he got college offers if any one knows or remember.
Yes I am had Lil flashbacks that game couldn't stop at all. And thanks you.Dan Basch. Went to Akron U. I assume that's who you are referencing.

You’re probably talking about the same guy but Dan Basch was the RB on the 1999 State Championship team.Dan Basch. Went to Akron U. I assume that's who you are referencing.
I don't remember his name but I know buchtel couldn't stop him that night it was tough to watch in vistor side that night don't remember what year that was. You’re probably talking about the same guy but Dan Basch was the RB on the 1999 State Championship team.
The 1997 team had a big RB named Tom Lopienski. Tom went on to play for Notre Dame and played a couple years for the Indianapolis Colts.
Buchtel played Walsh in 97 and 99. If the game was in the playoffs it was Dan Basch, if it was in the regular season it was Lopienski. Hope this helps.I don't remember his name but I know buchtel couldn't stop him that night it was tough to watch in vistor side that night don't remember what year that was.
Basch for sure.Buchtel played Walsh in 97 and 99. If the game was in the playoffs it was Dan Basch, if it was in the regular season it was Lopienski. Hope this helps.

Not sure Ravenna would've won but him getting hurt killed them. The Ravenna QB went to Michigan State as a safety, Damian Fortson, and they had a WR, Roy McCullough who went to Ohio U. That was a good team. Buchtel was good too. Thanks you and Marcus sanders was give buchtel problem to when they play before he got hurt he was really good back for them.
My apologies for messing up threads talk football I was curious about that game.
Yes buchtel had a big defense line coach brown lead them was good that year just ran into a Walsh couldn't do to much with them I was young at this game. Not sure Ravenna would've won but him getting hurt killed them. That Walsh team was huge upfront. They mauled teams.
