Versailles vs Marion Local

Excellent effort by both teams as expected. Both Qb's played great and made some crucial plays with their legs. Flyers up by a touchdown, had two separate instances of 4th and 1 in Tiger territory and got stopped both times. After the 2nd stop you just knew the Tigers were going to score and make this come down to the wire. Terrific game.

One the better games I’ve watched. Two great teams

Except for the long pass in the 1st half ML did a good job of preventing big plays esp. Osborne with his legs. I believe V only completed one pass in the 2nd half the TD pass. Knouff what an asset good passing QB but also he is a natural running back with the football in his hands.

Looking at the score you would have thought it was a defensive game but Marion Local never punted and Versailles maybe once. Both teams moved the football with time consuming drives which limited the possessions and the defense's made stops when they had to esp. Versailles.

Somewhat surprised V did not go for 2, Flyers had a hard time stopping Gehret.
I realize it's easy to say after the fact, but I also believe V should have gone for two. ML was not stopping V's running game.

Osborne is incredibly elusive - by small school standards ML is athletic up front defensively, but could seldom corral him.

Knouff's running was a huge part of ML's offense.

The missed 37 yard fg (off the left upright) and missed PAT were serious bummers for V.

Even though my $20 of 50/50 tickets weren't close to the winning numbers, it was still a fantastic game experience. Looking forward to the V-Coldwater game in three weeks.

Watched the second half on nfhs. Looked very close. Please don’t take this in the wrong way anybody but with being a Kirtland Fan is ML that low this season or is Versailles that good. I did hear the #25 for ML was hurt earlier in season and he was a Dude in the state championship last year against us. Just wondering also pretty mad that ML blocked the game now on NFHS and I can’t go back and watch the whole game.

Kirtland is going to have their hands full with Versailles if they have the pleasure of meeting up again.

ML is very good this yr Not down at all. V team is similar to 2021 team in capability. Smaller in size but very fast and athletic

Not taking it wrong at all, but not sure where your interpretation comes from. These were two high-level programs going at it tonight. This year’s edition of ML doesn't have the beef on defense of last year’s but is probably better offensively - at least more diverse.

Thanks for the insight. Like I said i was only able to watch the second half and was a great half. Last year ML rolled them so I was just trying to make an observation that way. If both teams make it back to week 16 I for sure see a hard nose game and it will be a coin flip. Kirtland has played two team so far this season that will make a deep run if not be state champs with Perry in D5 and Dalton in D7. These two teams are the real deal this year.
