The U.S. men's and women's soccer teams will be paid equally under a new deal

The new collective bargaining agreements will run through 2028 and will also include the "equalization" of World Cup prize money, the organization announced.

An interesting item in the article mentions that World Cup winnings would be pooled and divided evenly as well. Which is huge in a cycle like this year, since by just qualifying, the US Men's team gets $10 million, whereas as champions of the Women's World Cup, the prize was reportedly a total of $4 million.

I've never really been gung ho about the women's team but I see no issue with this development. The women win (more frequently than the men), draw big crowds, probably sell lots of apparel.

They're some of the biggest stars in women's team sports across the entire globe so I say they deserve every dollar they'll get from this deal.

Why not have the two teams play each other, then pay them by a percentage based on goals scored.
